Hair removal / Electrolysis in Iowa
Last post by morganae - Today at 02:42:00 AM
Hello there!

I am generally the very opposite of outgoing and pretty much just do my own thing. However, that's not working for me at the moment so I've had to stop by here once more (I was surprised to find my account was gone, but that's fine, the server reset plus being gone for a while pretty much makes this a nice fresh start!).

Previously I lived in what was one of the Utopias for Transgender and LGBTQ+ life, Portland Oregon! Now I find myself in a state that's more of... well, let's just go with a dystopian society where you can compare one-for-one the laws that they are trying to pass to the laws passed in the 1930's and 1940's by a man with a really stupid mustache... That place is Iowa!

Fortunately I work for a company that actually has a level of care for it's employees and actually covers Top, Bottom, Facial and hair removal surgeries and treatments for gender affirming care! The problem I have is that before I can go in for surgery, I need to find somewhere that does electrolysis that can bill insurance.

There's a lot of spas etc. That pretend that they're medical facilities but they aren't, and thus cannot bill.  This means that I need to come up with a very large sum of money (that I just don't have) vs paying the co-pay (which is still a large amount of money, it's just not THAT large.)

Is there anyone here that might be able to point this girl to ANYWHERE in Iowa or the surrounding states that takes insurance?  Even if it's out of network, it's still better than paying it all out of pocket!

Hello Titan

My name is Sarah B   and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that Danielle and Lori have welcomed you with open arms.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the Introductions Forum as well.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new from new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely will come along and discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most of us have experienced these as well.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Hi Everyone

There is no way, period, 'that a trans woman can be cisgender'   You will always be cisgender (in other words your biological sex remains the same) regardless of what you do with you your body. (trans woman is just a description for some).

Nature or nurture stuffed up my body and I accept that unconditionally, you know what they say about; "female brain in a male body".  Well I'm a female, always have been and always will be.  Not 'Trans' ever.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Love and Hugs

Quote from: ChrissyRyan on Yesterday at 11:02:38 PMSome days I am sure I blow these important body movement details.
It is like I am scatterbrained.  I wish they would all be "correct", every day, every time. No matter what.

I hear ya.

But the only way to make that happen is to practice until it becomes a habit. I go for a short walk four or five times a day. I practice. I don't always get it right, but I am getting more comfortable with it so it is almost automatic. Then my blonde scatterbrain kicks in ...  ;D

Today I had a pastrami sandwich when I meet my sweetie for an early dinner.  She had to work late so we met at a deli and got to eat and talk for just under a half hour before her returning to work.
