I have been taking Gabapentin for restless legs. It really didn't work and left me with brain fog all day. So I decided to stop taking it and have been in a bit of a crash all week with no ambition and not much desire to do any thing. I have struggled through with a few projects. Managed to till the garden and cleared out some stumps that needed to be dug out in the pasture.
Had my counseling session last night which always makes me feel better. Then out to the dinner for a bite. Stopped of at the Tractor supply store for some horse feed and seeds for the garden which I hope to get in soon. Railing for the deck should be in soon. Plenty to do, now if I can just find where I left my ambition.

Congrats on the Ipad and voice training. My voice coach recommended a breathing exercise to relax before lessons. Breath in from the belly for 4 count, hold for 8 count, and exhale through pursed lips slowly for 12 count. Do this for 3 minutes for heart rate to slow.
So sorry you have so much trouble with the VA. The Vets have always gotten the short end of the stick.
Hugs Gina

Beautiful scenery. Alaska would be great if it wasn't so cold. :) Enjoy your trip.

Yeah, that could be true. Lot of that success was about having assembled a good team... and that is by far the most important part of all of this success. I'm standing up because of all the wonderful people around me holding me up.

And to stretch that analogy probably right to the point of breaking (if not, admittedly, a bit passed) - over the past seven days I feel like I've recruited some top-flight talent for the team going forward, so I should have a pretty deep bench for whatever challenges lie ahead.

Band put on a great show last night, my lad was putting in the work on the drums but you could see his face light up when he started to play. They had put the gig on as practice for a full set as they have some festivals to play at soon, the courtyard at the pub was rammed with folks as well. My cousin came down as well, we walked back to my flat together, good job as she was a bit under the influence! She lives just a bit further up the road, got a huge hug before she left.
Cold wet and windy today, lashing it down tomorrow so a home day then. Have a couple of jobs I can do on the Austin today.

Texas governor calls for ban on gender non-conforming teachers, LGBTQ+ educators respond

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/texas-governor-calls-for-ban-on-gender-non-conforming-teachers-lgbtq-educators-respond/ar-AA1nJYRs?ocid=windirect&cvid=d8556775bcd04c88a9c6cdeb7b48f9e2&ei=32

Story by Cora Neas (26 April 2024)

DALLAS (KXAN) — At the Young Conservatives of Texas' April 19 convention in Dallas, Texas Governor Greg Abbott called for an "end" to gender non-conforming behavior by teachers, according to audio released to KXAN by Texas Observer reporter Steven Monacelli.

"In Lewisville, Texas... just a month ago, they had a high school teacher, who is a man, who would go to school dressed as a woman in a dress, high heels and makeup," said Abbott at the conference. "The person... is trying to normalize that this behavior is ok! It's not ok!"

He added that "this behavior" is what he wants to "end in the state of Texas," and said that he feels it would be distracting for students.

"I think it's possible that we could see banning gender non-conforming teachers become a legislative priority," Monacelli said.

"It goes against every right so many fought for and died to protect," said an Austin ISD educator. "Our constitution was built on the ideas of the freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These laws are directly going against this. Our country is built on diversity and freedoms, to strip this away is un-American."
