PORT ORCHARD, Wash. — A 15-year-old boy has been suspended from school after wearing high heels and a dress to school as a part of a challenge laid down by his mother.

Sam Saurs, a ninth grader at Sedgwick Junior High School in Port Orchard, said he told his mother that wearing high heels wouldn't be that hard. Saurs' mother challenged him to try it and he accepted. To take it even further, he decided to wear a dress, too.

After Saurs showed up at school Wednesday in the dress and heels, the school suspended him for the remainder of the year. That suspension was later reduced to three days.

Dress codes world wide are whack.  They never seem to send home girls with super short shorts/skirts, which I think they ought to.  God knows the people they are attracting the most are the pedo teachers.  And then all the guys that just walk around in the underwear.  Why is this a problem? This person is wearing more clothes than the average high schooler! Geez...

at the high school i went to girls DID get sent home for wearing skirts/shorts that were too high or too 'cleavage showing' of a shirt or one that was way above the waist. rightfully so, i don't know why parents let
their age 3 - 17 yr old daughters dress like that anyway. i know this is off topic but I've seen bikinis (pretty much nothing but strings) in toddler size and it turned my stomach a bit.

so a kid is suspended for wearing heels and a dress? can you imagine the conversation? "why are you ordering he be suspended?"
"well he was wearing heels and a dress."
"....and?"
"that's it."
"why?"
"well duh! he's a boy! boys don't wear these things! it's distracting!" - really means - "this interrupts my stereotypical idea of how boys and girls are supposed to dress and i cannot handle change and am probably a
closet gay/trans, am insecure and take it out on other people instead of taking responsibility for my own life and remain unhappy."

then if a girl wore a guys tshirt, jeans, and sneakers, it would all be ok. there's just something wrong with a boy wearing the clothing of female. just a bunch of sexist pigs and gender police. when will they all get put on a rocket ship and blasted to the center of the sun?
