Title: Exercise to Reduce Breasts?
Post by: MasonM on July 04, 2011, 07:11:41 AM
My husband and I have discussed how far I'm going to transition (what he's okay with and what I insist on) and have reached the decision that if I can pass as male in public (flat chest via binding, packer, etc), then I'll be happy and he'll still be okay with those changes, which means that I'm electing not to have GRS.

However, I do want a breast reduction, because in their current state they're too large to bind.

We can't afford that though (any more than we can afford T currently) and so I'm wondering if there are any exercises that I can do to reduce the size of my breasts until such time that we can afford a reduction.

Any suggestions, folks?

As far as I know, no.

There are a lot of members here who bind. I'm pretty sure you won't be short of help.

But the most important thing is to remain positive.

Hey Mason.  From what I know, breast tissue is equivalent to fat tissue.  Same make-up, and hard to decrease. And then of course, there's the genetic factor.   My 2 cents would be to increase your muscle mass by weight training, do cardio on non-lifting days, and increase the protein in you diet and decrease carbs.  Pick up a copy of Mens Health at the store.  They always have great workout suggestions and also ways to increase protein in your diet without having to down numerous protein shakes.  Hope this helps a little.

When I was just starting puberty my brother did a lot of weightlifting.  He told me that I wasn't allowed to, though, because it would make me have small breasts.  I started lifting in secret to try and get just that result, but it didn't work for me.  I just built up muscle underneath the fat, so it made them look like they were bigger.

I was hoping there would be a way to reduce breast size with exercise and I'll look into Men's Health.

From what I've heard if you work out your shoulders and arms it can make things look smaller in comparison.  Also it is fat tissue, so any weight loss will shrink it at least a bit.  Binding can also make the tissue less firm and flatten out some over time.

Lowering your body fat level will shrink them somewhat, But their isn't any specific excersize for that Working out the region like pushups and such will make them bigger as muscle forms behind them.

Have you tried surgical binders, it sounds like they'd be more effective than a regular binder or ace bandage

Weightlifting is bad because it will build up muscle under the fat, making them look bigger, as you noted.

Dieting and cardio/running will decrease your breast size, but if you are naturally top heavy (apple shaped) that will be the last area of body fat to go.. so it will be a difficult and time consuming process.  That said, if you are on testosterone that will be a major help in boosting your metabolism =)
