Title: Does anyone have successful stories on Freezing Sperm?

My spouse and I are going to freeze "his" sperm. In the future we would like to have a baby together. Her and I have a wonderful relationship and I am willing to go through this "crazy, fun, unpredictable" journey with her. Her goals are to go back to school and of course get SRS surgery later on. She just started taking hormones and is 33 years old. I am 28 years old. I am willing to put me on hold so she can concentrate on her transition. Of course, at times, I worry like hell, that she will not want to have a child with me down the road and I waited for no reason BUT we absolutely LOVE each other to death and she tells me she could NEVER imagine her life without me. I am always being reassured and plus she has NEVER lied to me in the 9 years we have been together. So I guess I just need to learn to relax and everything will fall into place when it needs to. LOL Oh and I was pregnant with our baby once, but due to this coming out practically at the sometime of my pregnancy, she was completely terrified of this "new" journey and her "new" journey would be just too much and we decided to terminate the pregnancy. It was a tough call but she was EXTREMELY overwhelmed and told her as much as my body was loving my new changes that I would wait with her until it was better timing.. She is not the type of person to take, take, take.. She is not evil at all, in fact, she is the greatest person I have ever met!! I love her with ALL of my heart and we talk about everything and have respect for each other. Please share your stories if you would like...

Just so I have an idea, how much do you pay for it, and was it a one time thing or is it a monthly / annual fee?

When I asked this question Axelle said that she did, she has a son, though I'm sure she can speak for herself lol. Freezing sperm is also important to me.

How can it be yearly if you only pay the first year? So it's one-time only? o.o *confused*

I paid about $800.00 initially, Cyro Choice... that is what we used!! We have no kids right now. We had to terminate only because my partner was highly suicidal and I can not bring back the love of my life, but I can always try for another one day. It is $130.00 every year for them to hold it. The actual cost to get pregnant is alot.. but you can make payments towards it every month. $15,000 to $20,000, i think...
So ladies, are you all supporters of your SO?? I am.. it was extremely hard for me to do what I did but it was the right choice.. I got to the point that the pain I felt was so awful, that I just gave it over to my higher power to sort out!!! If I am to have a baby let them sort it out I CAN NOT THINK of that right now.. I am here to support my spouse's emotions and try to get a handle on mine at the same time.. This happened about 3 months ago.. I was so hurt and confused I decided that right now I need/want to be happy, so I am handing this baby thing over to my angels for good!! I want freedom and peace of mind!! That is my one goal in life!!!

Oh my god for a moment I read 800.000,00 and thought "ok, we ain't having a child then" xD
Actually, I'm the one who's going to begin the transition, but I'm dealing with both the duties of it as the ones to help my girlfriend understand it and be happy at the same time.
One of our main concerns is a future child, so I was curious about that too, so thanks for answering. I can live with those costs. I thought it was something prohibitvely expensive, like those brain freezing centers in case in the future a recosntruction of the body is possible. Glad to know this isn't the case.
I don't believe i quite understood your situation. By "terminated" you mean you had the sperm destroyed? If so, how does that connect to her suicidal tendencies?

Oh yes, I read that, I just though the sperm storage had also been terminated.
Miss quirky, I do wish you two things then, with all my heart: that you are able to cope with her transition, for after a succesful transition I wish for nothing more than to stay with my girlfriend, and that you two can have a baby someday :) Oh, and let it be a girl. Men are so not compelling that I'm jumping this ship xD (ok that was just a little bit of humor, please don't spank me?)

ok i am banking sperm :) so hers what you do you have to masturbate :( into a cup. each time you do this its about $60 to $160. now they need 10samples and seeming i was on blockers it took me about 20 tries the worst year of my life ... oh and you have to wait a week before every try but i waited two be safe.now that cost me around $1860 now realise this is because everytime they do tests and stuff. now of coarse you could find a cheaper place but when it came to my future children hell no ways i am going budget. now i believe its like $10 a month and you only pay once a year. now i was told that once i started estrogen the chances of me getting viable sample were next to zero so the sooner the betta . anyways hopes this helps

More information, the method and another example of pricing. Thats good, thanks.
The information I have, however, is that sterelization thats over an year of HRT to occur, so we should check this out to convey the correct info to the next bankers.
Ps: that week between "donations"... is that a week without sex and masturbation? Between all 10? Cause if so, i find it very difficult to believe Ill be able to do it lol.

there is a minimum requirement of the amount of sperm required per sample and that is hard to make at 6 months just blockers and yes no! sex or masturbation what's so ever ! which i had no issue with because the whole process made my therapist quite a bit rich ! i hate that stupid thing in my pants! and lol and yes its like you can donate later but you must have a week before donations.

That amounts to a total of 2 and a half months without sexual activity.
Excuse the expression, but... I'm gonna go ->-bleeped-<-ing nuts. xD

Actually, sex is a very important part of my life, so when doing HRT I'm going to enforce the need for female hormones that enhance my sexual drive.
My biggest worry is having to do the bankign process before HRT. That would delay the entire transition for quite a few months...

...along with many other health risks, I know. Percentually, tough, it's still much lower than the 100% chance of suicide if I don't do the treatment right. xD

I went through the ice one winter. My sperm wasn't frozen, but it was well chilled! Hugs, Tracey
