First off. IM TIRED OF MY UPPER BACK ALWAYS HURTING! I worked almsot 6 hours today, wearing a SUPER OLD altered binder that only has ONE layer of compression. my upper back starts to ache after about an hour, by the time my shift is over my back is burning and aching, and it still hurts now, even after 2 hot showers, 4 hours and 3 ibuprofen.
what else can I freaking do? im wearing my lightest freaking binder, ONE LAYER OF COMPRESSION, how much lighter can I get? I'm so sick and tired of binding, I don't even do it that much. im sick at tired that I HAVE to bind, im bitter because I know I shouldn't have these disgusting tits but i do, and I have to hide them, and hiding them causes me back pain
Im so pissed that i have to save up 8 grand to fix something that I shouldn't even have to deal with at all. Im pissed that I cant be as good looking as I should, im pissed that I cant go out in public and feel the wind and rain on my back and chest. Im pissed that none of my shirts fit the way they should.
im pissed that sometimes I will be chilling shirtless in my apartment, and want to go outside for a smoke, then i reaize, oh.. i have to go out of my way to pull on a fugly shirt
I am so tired of having disgusting man boobs, tits, utters on my chest
i just wanna dunk myself in Novocaine and cut under them and pull all of the ->-bleeped-<- out and sew it back

seems you and I are having an equally ->-bleeped-<-ty time at the same time. Sorry I can't help and only commiserate. I'll end up taking a dozen years to afford surgery of any kind without insurance.

Elijah.
There probably is no need to remind you that pain is the indicator that something is wrong.
You won't work past this pain. All you'll do is cause yourself permanent harm.
I lack experience with binders, but you urgently need to work out what is causing the pain, all of it, not just the worst bits. Then eliminate those. Even if that means carrying around a couple of floppy bags of sand for a few more years.
As always, don't forget that you have complete support and sympathy here.

I dont know what else I can do, if there is something wrong there isnt much else I can do to fix it, like i said i still get pain when I am wearing only 1 layer, and a super old binder (most guys here wear the tri top which is three layers)
Ive worn 2 sports bras at once, but i dont think it will work well enough for my job where I am stealth
i dunno if it means my back is just ->-bleeped-<-ed up in general, like I have already damaged it, cause my upper back hurts pretty much all the time, it just hurts more when I bind, and maybe 6 hours after binding too

First, I AM NOT A DOCTOR! My friend has a bad back and the doctor has him use ice, not heat. I understand that's because the back is already inflammed. (sp.?)
Hope you feel better, light hugs, Tracey

Is it feasible to take a couple days off? If you're in pain that much, your body is probably telling you that it needs a break to recover. If you have a full weekend, maybe you could stay home and not bind unless absolutely necessary to see if that helps at all. If that doesn't work, it might be a good idea to see a doctor.
I know whenever I get pain in my wrists from busy weeks at work (at keyboard for a long time) they feel much better if I take the weekend off from anything computer-related.

If it's causing that much pain with only one layer I'd definitely go see someone about it. It may be something that could be causing more damage the longer it goes untreated.

I feel your pain. Literally. It may be an effect of long-term binding, 'cause I've been doing it for about a year and a half, but am now having to bind as little as possible to avoid the backache that'll follow. I'm back with the bikini top I started out with - doesn't bind of course, but it does flatten them well enough.
But yeah, I'm in the same boat - even though I can get mine funded by the NHS I'm just sick of the damn things. Get 'em off so I don't have to hide anymore... ugh >:(

I know what you mean regarding back pain. I had a car crash back in 2009 and since then my back has been ->-bleeped-<-ed up, I still can't even walk without a cane. Kinda depressing for a 21-year-old ;_;. Oh well, just gotta find a way to get me some health insurance so I can see a doctor. My boyfriend and I have been considering marriage since I'm legally female still, but he also wants to quit his job and get a better one, which he can't do if we get married for his insurance. So yeah, I'm screwed if I don't qualify for disability! D: Don't know how to help except to tell you I know your pain. Oh, and this link:

I hope things are at least a bit better for you, but I'm definitely relating right now. My lower back is all screwed up for some reason, and to top that off my best friend accidentally whacked me in the shoulder blade/back area with an umbrella and the whole area feels like it's on fire.
And the chest thing, yeah. That. I can always relate on that, unfortunately.
