Some good tips. However, I would not advise permanent makeup.

Permanent makeup is really an individual choice.  While I may not want it, others may.

My biggest suggestion would be to work on being happy in other aspects of your life. Like it or not if you've got other things making you miserable, they're not going to go away post transition.

good tips, I am pretty new at transition, but I will say even little things can feel like large victories.

I've met genetic girls who have permenant make up, it does not look real.  I know several who have permenant eyebrows, you can see it across the room, the same for lipstick.

well when done correctly it is great
the trick to permanant make-up is choosing the correct color
but thanks for the comment
But once you're chosen it, you can't change your mind.

i think you were spot on with everything but the permanent makeup and the hair.

Makeup styles changes since makeup in related to fashion and fashion changes too.  I would highly advise against permanent makeup (especially eyeliner and brows).

To me, the 10 extra minutes with brows every 5 days and the 2 extra minutes every day to put on eye liner is much more "safer" than gambling that the current fashion trend stays the same forever.

Hair is a personal choice and also long hair doesn't fit with everyone. I look ridiculous with long hair. I keep my hair at bob length or pixie cut. Ive seen many transgirls who get long hair because they think they have to have it to look feminine. But it all boils down to your facial compliments and what styles look best with it.

1. start growing your hair long
But what about those of us who like cute short-ish (not guy short) styles? D:

I wasn't putting those ideas down.  Truthfully the girls I know who have permenant eyebrows are very happy with them (at least they were last time I saw them which has been a while).

I was just pointing out that "if" your looking you can spot them across the room.  Most people don't look.  My wife saw two of the girls the same time I did (at the eye doctor's) and she never looked at their faces.

wow...is all i can say...there are ALWAYS those that will nit pick and find negative in things. People  love to disagree and find fault. This forum is no different than life. all I can say to you new girls is what i have already said. i will say again, enhance dont exagerate plus this is me in my avatar, i have done everything i suggested to you, includinga lower back tattoo AND lip liner, AND liner AND brows. The trick being not to go dark as after i apply foundation i must lightly trace over them anyways. look at avatars when deciding whos advice to folloow

When it comes to telling girls new to transition to get permanent makeup, long hair, and a tramp stamp, I'm gonna disagree. Sorry.

It's not nit picking. It's just me disagreeing with you.

I am not trying to sound mean, but it only furthers my point, I knew your brows were done with permanent makeup before you posted this thread because i have seen your youtube video (cute bunny btw :) ). It's cool if it is your thing. But I wouldn't necessarily give advice to new girls that these are the standard steps.

In my opinion, it is always more safer to apply makeup that you will have the ability to change throughout the progression of your life.

If these things worked well in your life, then that is awesome. But i always have a saying: what works well for you will not work well for others. It's just human nature. Not nit picking :)

I will confess, (and betray the sheltered life I must have had), when I say, I never realised anyone would even consider permanent makeup.

I don't want to appear to be critical in any way for those that have, just that the idea seems to be to defeat the purpose, somewhat.

Surely makeup is to create a different look for different situations?

But as I say, no criticism intended to those that have done this.

for me, i dont always wear black eyeliner. Sometimes I wear silver, gray, pinks, reds (the color eyeliner has glitter)....whatever compliments my face to the situation and my outfits.

true make up styles and purposes change and therefore it should never be permanent because you will leave yourself permanently out of date. NO offense meant

Come on superkitty put the post back, most of the questions were about the permenant makeup not the balance of your suggestions.

Agreed, no need to take it personal, the others were just responding with opinions. I'd say the other suggestions were great, and were at least helpful to me.

her other tips were wonderful. If i remember correctly the others were:

1. Don't start any surgery until at least 2 years of HRT.

I couldn't agree more. Rushing into a breast augementation or FFS may be a waste of money if you do not allow HRT to do it's thing.

2. While transitioning start with laser.

This is a good tip too. If you have dark hairs and light skin, you can eliminate those hairs while the electrolysis can take care of the rest. If you went full time before complete hair removal like i did, this is very important to have laser....since electrolysis requires you to grow your hair out for a few days. With laser, you have to shave as closely as possible in order for the laser to really be effective.

I just shave really close, bring my makeup with me to the spa...get the laser done and then put the makeup on. Laser is very friendly for those doing RLE before hair is fully removed.

I have to agree with this, whether or not she is an attention seeker why take the state it, if for no other reason than to attempt to make yourself feel better than by saying something hurtful about another. We are all here looking for help and friendship, why take the time to tare each other down there are a whole lot of other people who can do that for us. We should take the time to build one another up

When I started living openly I thought that I would be spending lots of time buying and wearing make-up.   This hasn't turned out to be the case.   Some days I wear 'full' make-up, but most days I only use mascara and lip gloss, some days I don't wear any make-up.   Isn't it funny, when my mother didn't approve of me wearing make-up and said so I wore make-up everyday - although I did my make-up in my room.   Now that I can wear make-up without the slightest comment from her I don't seem to feel the need to paint my face everyday.

It is the same with clothes.  I thought that I would be living in skirts and dresses, and while I do wear skirts and the occasional dress, I wear jeans/trousers more often than not.  The only items I wear everyday are bras and panties.   I have several bra and panty sets but quite often I am wearing the bra from one set with the panties from another.
