There's some I find hilarious, and that scares me a little.

Depends on who's telling the joke and whether or not they're being ironic. I think if it's a comedian that's telling a sexist joke then that probably makes a difference too. Jim Jeffries has a lot of jokes that would be arguably sexist towards women. I think he's hysterical. Kinda cute too. But he also makes fun of himself and his own heterosexuality. He has a very crass style of humor. That's his shtick. Although, I take most of those types jokes to be in reference to ciswomen anyway. I'm not a ciswoman, I'm a transwoman. :P

I like dead baby jokes. What does that say about me...

My ex not only found all that stuff hysterical, but as a writer for professional stand-ups wrote some of the most sexist stuff I've ever heard.  Funny as hell too.  I think it has to do with self-confidence.  People who are secure in themselves can laugh at themselves and their life, insecure people feel its' a personal attack.

I don't see an issue with it as long as it is in the right context.  Someone being ironic, a comedian, etc.  That is okay in as I said the right context.  Otherwise... no... not really...

A couple of my female friends make sexist jokes about women all the time, and like the most ridiculously sexist groups on Facebook. I guess it's all about intent. When someone's telling such a joke in an effort to be genuinely spiteful and derogatory it's a problem, but if it's just someone engaging in a bit of good natured mockery of stereotypes? I don't see the harm in laughing. :)

Pretty much my take on it. If the joke is funny then there's no reason to get your nickers in a twist because it's demeaning, after all it is just a joke. If it was someone directly trying to be offensive then that's different.

I do. I find them hilarious. I laugh at black jokes, white jokes, women jokes, guy jokes, gay jokes, animal jokes, corporate jokes, etc. The only time I take offense is when it no longer becomes a joke.

The fact is, there are differences between men and women and identifying them with a bit of humor isn't sexist.

People tend to take everything that is said is offensive, if it's directed towards them.

We've come a long way. Women have fought for equal rights for a very long time, and have succeeded in a lot of ways. This is just one of the ways we are treated equally. How can we have jokes about every type of person and then exclude women? That's sexist to exclude women from the joke category.

It depends who uses it and where it ends up. When I lived as a woman in high school that was written on a lot of walls and desks, not as a joke but as a sexist statement. With that there were other comments that were demeaning towards women, calling certain girls sluts, claiming certain girls had HIVs or AIDs, and 'it's not rape if she doesn't tell', etc. etc. It really pissed me off so now I can't take it as a joke. At that point it is not a joke, that's when it's not funny and is sexist.

In the circles of humor, nothing's sacred. x3 I'll even listen to humor about transsexuals as long as they don't get too spiteful about it. ^^ It's sad when someone can't enjoy a joke just because he or she don't like the theme ._.;

I've sent pictures of myself to a boyfriend of mine, and one time he responded with, "That's an odd looking kitchen".

I didn't find it offensive. Because I knew he was joking around. He doesn't really believe women should be in the kitchen. I just give it back even worse than he gives to me  ;D

Okay, so, I find this sort of thing hilarious, in an ironic sort of way. Some sexist and misogynistic jokes are so overtly over-the-top that they transform into a parody of what sexist people would actually say (and usually it's so beyond what sexist people say that it becomes ludicrous).

I have a copy of The Alphabet of Manliness by Maddox on my bookshelf right now. Nothing in it applies to me in a literal sense. It's so ridiculously sexist and uber-manly that I find it totally silly. It's such a fabulous parody of misogyny and sexism, that I wouldn't be surprised if Maddox was secretly gay and making an ironic comedic jab on misogyny and sexism in general by pretending to be a total ->-bleeped-<-. Even if he's for real about this, it's still funny, because I find the concepts of misogyny and sexism laughable in their idiocy.

People who are actually sexist are despicable. Jokes where people pretend to be sexist, racist, whatever, are funny precisely because they make fun of those who would actually say those sorts of things unironically. I guess it all depends on the level of irony present and the context in which the jokes are being made.

I've got a joke for you: women's rights.

i always found kitchen jokes to be kinda funny, even when someone like a guy friend directs it towards me. Then again i grew up being kind of a passive person that laughed at any joke racist, sexist, etc- im just not easy to offend. My mother is the same way i guess i got it from her, instead of telling me "dont ever let a man offend you" she just laughed at the jokes even if they werent meant as jokes. Lol i dnt know if thats good or bad
