Title: Disgusting period

Okay, so I have terribly painful cramps.
It's so painful I can't even move. If I do, I feel light headed and the pain seems to get worse. Nausea, vomiting, crying, irritability, sweating, etc. And during all that, I can't take any medicine because I'll just throw it up immediately. I have to deal with it every month if there's no medicine around to prevent it, and thankfully this month there was.
So, is this normal? Is something wrong with me? No girl I know seems to get it this bad.

Maybe no woman you know, how about a man? :'D? You just described my periods XP. Terrible plight, aint it? ;_; Right now, the only thing keeping me from performing an at home hysterectomy is birth control. I know, I hate it too @_@. Honestly though, I'd much rather at this point deal with taking estrogen once a day than randomly pass out because of a biological function I can't help until further notice.
I swear, the first thing I'm doing when I have either some money or health insurance is getting these organs removed. It's even more important to me than top surgery, that's how bad my periods are. Unfortunately, I want kids so I'm first paying for fertility treatment for that whole egg harvesting thing. Damn my want for children, but my unwillingness to be pregnant ;_;. At least I know I won't have kids until I can afford them xD.

I used to go thru that every month as a young kid. I hit puberty at 10 and missed a LOT of school due to what you just described. I'm not sure how old you are but mine got better with age. By my late teens/ early 20's it had settled down a LOT. I used to take 800mg motrin to get me by during the bad times. Look into BC pills/injections those can help a TON. Talk with your doc or OB about it. I'm now on depro provera injection and mine have stopped altogether :)

Sometimes it's really bad, I get migraines and then have to be sick, and I get diarrhoea sometimes too. Ugh. Hopefully going on hormone blockers soon I hope.

Hi,
* Nausea, vomiting, crying, irritability, sweating, etc. And during all that, I can't take any medicine because I'll just throw it up immediately.
So, is this normal? Is something wrong with me? No girl I know seems to get it this bad. *
My former gf had it exactly like you describe it. Though I do not think one moment that this is "normal" at all.
She refused to take any hormones to correct things and preferred to suffer for YEARS!
Being a Taurus and stubborn as hell didn't help either...
If you planning to go on T it will very probably sort itself out --- my best guess.

* So I'm thinking somethings wrong there... I really should go to a doctor but it's embarrassing. *
How badly embarrasment-trained do you have to be to keep SUFFERING like that?
Give yourself a break and go see a good gynie.
Eish,

same issue with me. but im 20 and i was an early bloomer started at 8. i found out that my internal organs are cleaved in half and thats the cause of the pain for me. but after 12 years ive learned hot water bottles ease things when you feel your about to curl up and die. i swear what some call natural is a pain in the gluteous maximus most days. :P

feeling all those symptoms is not normal, it's pathological. you MUST visit your doctor despite the embarassment. it might be just hormones as well as some cyst, and you can't just start taking birth control pills.
however, it's common, lots of people have hard and painful periods.
i suggest you take an anti-nausea drug before taking a painkiller.

In this case, you DO get what you want.
Or, each one to his own.
I go along with such being clearly pathological, including being somehow more prepared to suffer it all, then to do much about it.
It brings to mind one of CG. Jung's archetypal theories that: "Women feel they just have to suffer... " some sort of a mindset.
Maybe you have a point in your own way, yet it does need an audience to acknowledge the suffering, else all is for naught.
Food for thought?

If I was born with a male body, I wouldn't have this problem.
True, but that doesn't change the reality of this, does it? You probably have endometriosis, it's a build up of the lining that's in the uterus outside the uterus, and the most obvious symptom is usually terrible periods. It's worsened by estrogen, which increases during menstruation. It probably will only get worse as you get older if that's what's going on. Birth control can help for some people, but for me it only made it worse. The only thing that's helped me is testosterone, but a lot of people have luck with Depo Provera or combo pills.
On the bright side, having endometriosis or recurring cysts (I've had both) can expedite getting a hysterectomy if you're FTM, and maybe covered by insurance. If you're wanting to have children, you may have troubles, a lot of people with endometriosis are infertile from the scarring the disorder causes. There's operations to just remove the endometriosis though, so of which can be done with small incisions.
At any rate, there's no sense in suffering because you're afraid of going to a doctor. It could be that the first birth control method they try fixes your problem completely. Try to find a trans-friendly doctor, some will even give you a sedative before your exam to relax you. Complaining about legitimate chronic health concerns will only garnish so much sympathy if you won't do anything to remedy the situation. I know it sucks, I've been there. I never had those exams done until I had problems, but but being in that much pain definitely warrants medical intervention.

by cleaved in half i mean the shape of the uterus is just very unnatural and forms twio halves like a huge v shape. hystorectemy is what ive been praying to get since i could spell the word. :P..i hope i spelled it right. but yeah as said before see a dr. it could be anything. and pain is bad if its thats crippling. :-\

Honey,
BTW male-bodied folks ALSO get "fingered" and by the 'servants entrance', no less.
How otherwise may you check on the state of a prostate gland.
Finding your cervix, find a prostate, SO WHAT?!
Time to decide drop being squeamish :-)
You not the first, and will also not be the last, having these examinations,
Axelle

I'm about to go for a snooze, but I wanted to quickly say about a possible help for the nausea. I get really bad nausea at times (not just that time of the month :() and i finally had enough of it so went to the GP and asked for anti-sickness tablets that go under the lip so I couldn't sick them up and they absorb into the bloodstream through the gum. They taste horrible when they start to melt but you can disguise the taste with food/juice
I know, the nausea is only part of many other problems you list but it may help even just a little?
best of luck mate

That sounds exactly like my periods. EXACTLY like them. I'm not on T. so I'm just on birth control. it takes away about 90% of the pain and everything else.
Although when I do get on T, I don't know if that pain will come back, or what. it worries me. I know T stops your periods after a few months. So hopefully after those few months, the pain will be gone again, too. Idk.

My goal is to have a full hyster someday; I am too young now most dr willn't even consider one for me now. I get cramps for 1-2 days every month. No guy would putup with such pain every month. I hate to take any female hormones. I want to get on T and hopefully ends the effects of the monthly until I can get the hyster.

I am okay with having an ass. I am not okay with said girl parts. I would tolerate a prostate exam but not any kind of exam of parts I wish to forget exists. I would not like a prostate exam but it would be a million times more tollerable than a female exam. Hell I would rather let mike tyson beat the crap out of me than have anyone touch those parts.

My periods are this bad as well. Thankfully I now keep track of them using an online tracker and make sure I have enough Ibuprofen, otherwise I'm completely incapacitated and end up vomiting, fainting, etc.
I strongly suspect I have endometriosis, especially since an aunt probably had it (the family "don't speak of it" but she had some sort of neurectomy due to intense period pain) and it can often run in families.
So far I've discussed it with two doctors, was told variations on "Lots of people have really bad cramps, just get over it!" and they generally acted like I was a malingerer. I'm getting a new doctor soon (hopefully in the next week) and it's one thing I want to discuss with them. I'm sick of having to take more than the recommended safe dose of Ibuprofen just to get the pain down to a level where I don't throw up from it. No matter what those doctors said, it is NOT normal and the only other person I've met with period pain this bad has been diagnosed with endometriosis.
I'm apprehensive, though, as from what that woman told me, where I live they tend to avoid surgical solutions for endometriosis, and instead focus on heavy doses of estrogen and progesterone. Obviously I'm leery about that because I'm trans, but aside from that, my reading indicates that estrogen frequently makes endometriosis WORSE! And even though it's probably unlikely, I worry they might decide that pumping me full of female hormones is more important "for my health's sake", and refuse me testosterone when I try and get it...
Then again... it's also possible that if it does turn out to be endometriosis, being FTM might help encourage them to suggest a hysterectomy for me. I'm not too hopeful since everyone tells me the doctors here will do just about anything to avoid giving someone a hysterectomy, or even a laproscopic surgery to remove endometrial growths (it's "too expensive", though of course you can go private), but... I'm trying to remain positive.
I just want a hysto so badly. I've wanted one since I was about five years old  I always had dysphoria about having a womb inside me even before I really considered the gender-related significance of that. And not only do I not want it, nor want to ever use it for its intended purpose, but it causes me extreme pain. Just get rid of it, please!! >:(

Forgive me guys, but I like to clear this up and you seem the best audience - I hope.
I always had the notion that my last gf was either trans or actually gay. She picked ME after all, another girl in the closet.
She also had the most excruciating period pains, fainting, vomiting, the works. She never like to have children, and had sexual issues --- I still think due to molestation issues in her younger years, by a parent, no less.
We do know that body and mind are linked much more then most scientific-materialist-male-gynaecologist tend to concede.
Meaning, if you "reject" and organ because it is either not "mapped in your brain" or because it has some or other bad connotation e.g. vaginas are dirty and some such --- it would start to actually give you a real pain.
OK, hormones will make this happen but they are just as well busy doing WHAT YOU ARE.
Hate your organ and it will give you grief to put in a nut-shell.
I concede the may be a chicken and egg situation. Was the pain first and the rejection of your organ followed?
But in this here blog environment it may be more of "I hate this junk" and so it gives you a pain...?
Just as well the male plumbing seems a tad more robust, as less hormone dependant. Lucky bio-males, eh. :-)
What do you think?
