Were you in training? If not, I am not surprised.

Karen.

When was the last time you attempted a long-jump? If it's been awhile, that's normal... nothing to do with HRT. Either way, it'll be more than 2 months before you notice the muscle reducing effects.

I like agree with JennX
If you like haven't done it in a while, then that's probably the reason.
I tried to do then splits like 2 days ago, i haven't done them in about 3 weeks and lets just say i kinda got stuck in an awkard position for about 10 minutes  ::)
(my first post on someones else's topic YAY)

I think you may have a point. My legs just buckled, I tumbled and fell the other day.
JUST BUCKLED! And not only that, my arms, I wanted to used to stop the fall, just buckled THE SAME. Just flopped.

So I FELL right onto my face, hit my chin like being hit with an uppercut. Was out for a short moment and came off with a concussion.
3 weeks later I had the result, a full on brain haematoma (blood and water on the brain).

Long story short, start learn to function with your reduced strength and a somewhat more challenged sense of balance.

Speaking to GGs they run far more often into objects and get blue marks then cis-males. YMMV

EDIT: 15 month on HRT

ANY athletic endeavor requires that one stay in shape in order to maintain a particular level of performance.  I fully concur with the others that what you describe has nothing to do with HRT, especially after such a short period of time.

Well the loss of some muscle mass is expected... However your stamina is unusual. It might be just that your normally out of shape.

Yeah, maybe just getting old like me, eh?

I do know what you are talking about when you say "collapsing" , when something just doesn't want to do at all what you want it to.

I am walking AND do some jogging EVERY day for 1hr, and that happened to me.
Nothing to do with fitness in my case. It's just that my body started to react differently --- and I had to learn it the hard way.
It stated by walking into door frames, knocking in to the fridge corner and such.
Spoke to my beautician and she knows the same, age 27. She just laughed, is a GG and was also on hormones...

And as always YMMV.

Well, that would support my saying it has to do with E, not so?

But some folk's Milage Does Vary... so?

I'm also quite fit, and for my age, and I spoke to GGs.

The question is? Can you DO much about it?

I don't think so, other then get used to your changed body-sense.

Watch females how they move about --- it is different to males. Guess why?
Not just because they have wider hips. They have a slightly different way in balancing their body.

I noticed that change coming over me quite some time ago. But then what is my 15 month on HRT compared to me being used for years and years to different balancing?

I'm sure you'll get into it. It seems more to do with body BALANCE, my deduction.

actually, YES, you CAN get that out of shape in such a short period of time.

When I was still playing softball, I could ALWAYS tell a difference between the years where I continued to do some work in the off-season (well, the period between the Fall and Spring leagues) compared to the years where I did nothing, not even light throwing or time in the cages.  And those were breaks of barely a month in duration, and that was also not at the competitive levels like where I once played.

As another example, when I got back from recent travel, there had been about a two week gap in trips to the gym.  I had to drop down a level on the treadmill to do the same amount of time I had been doing prior to the travel.

After two months, it's probably not hormones causing that :).  But you better believe they will eventually affect your physical abilities.  After being on HRT for about 2.5 years I started playing basketball again this summer and I have lost 12" off my vertical leap, and that is after getting back in shape and everything.  Pretty much any aspect of the game that has to do with muscles has been drastically reduced for me.

I can still beat the boys though, so nbd :P.

The old band saying about practice works here as well.  If you skip one day of practice you will be able to tell, if you skip two your wife will be able to tell, if you skip three the band will know, and if you skip four in a row, EVERYone will know.
