Title: men's rooms - info for us older guys

I had heard of men sitting to pee because in older guys it is a healthy option for an enlarged prostate. Just did a websearch, and sure enough, for men with an enlarged prostate, (which happens naturally for men over 50), it is better for men to sit vs. standing because sitting helps to better empty the bladder. Just thinking, here is a good excuse for us older guys...using the men's room and sitting to urinate.

Hi.
As I now wear ladies briefs I have to sit to pee :) There being no front fly in ladies briefs I have to find a cubicle before I can relieve myself ;D
The enjoyment of wearing my briefs far though far outways the inconvenience of having to sit.
I may have an enlarged prostate who can tell?
As an older gal I am more concerned with remembering to pee;)
I have to say though that discovering my GD at a ripe old age came as a bit of a shock and disappointment that I hadn't found out earlier in my life. Still better late then never :)
And sitting here with some of my feminine clothes on makes it all worth while especially when one considers there must be hundreds of people who never discover this, including I believe an uncle of mine.
Best wishes,
Sarah

Do we (MtF) need to apologise to post - I mean we were just talking BPH (benign prostate hypoplasia)
I had that, and I can shed some light on that, maybe?
Maybe some >50 will just do that and sit, fine. Does it help? Maybe.
But still lots will not budge and do their STPee, and dribble :-). I didn't.
How'd I manage... not really of interest here I guess.
So, yeah, go and sit by all means. I did the sitting because having BHP makes for dribbles, and not sitting down one's partner has lots to say about that.
So... we go sit like good boys, and also do that in other places - eventually, if we can.
Just try to avoid rush hour as there are usually a lot more urinals the stalls.
My 2 cents :-)

Hey Sarah and Axelle. Thanks for the replys. Being 54 , I figure I can use that as my excuse. I hate to lie to people, but I realize sometimes...people can't handle the truth.....and I am also realizing, not everyone needs to know my life story.

One of my cis-male friends sits to pee. His story is that when he lived on a boat, sitting to pee made sense, and now he does it out of habit.

Sorry to butt in to an older guys thread but I've met some cis-males and transgals who sit to pee because they grew up in a households full of women and it was easier to sit then to remember to put the seat down and now its habit

I don't mind the ladies chiming in. After all, you have experiences we don't and I find your input very useful.
While I don't need a reason to sit, I just do it if I want to. If I want to stand, I do.
Oh, and you don't really need a fly to stp. With briefs, it was easier to pull them down a bit on the front than fish through the fly. With my loose boxers, the fly allows easy access.

A cisguy pal of mine has to sit for that same reason.
Have to kinda laugh at how matter of fact and open he is about it vs how us guys worry about somebody noticing if we sit, stand, have a purple pecker, etc.

Hi.
I find sitting a lot safer than standing these days ;)
It does mean I don't have to fish around trying to find the opening in my pants. Especially when I have left things a little late:-)
Anyway I like my ladies briefs even if I have to protect them from that last drop.
The important thing is to make sure I remember to pull them down ;D

When guys go to the bathroom, do they really take notice if other guys sit or stand to pee? Aren't they enclosed stalls? Please enlighten me.

Urinals are not enclosed and feet can be seen under the doors.

I usually sit to pee. Never had anyone question me or my motives. (of course, I make sure the seat is clean, and use either the seat-protectors or use TP to protect my delicate bottom from picking up some nastiness.)
Just walk in "like a boss", do your business, wash up and walk out like nothing unusual happened...chances are, the other guys didn't even notice.

If you're lucky, you'll find a men's room with partitioned urinals. But those are few and far between. Like maybe 5% of all men's rooms have them. Otherwise, it'll all out in the open.
Worst one I ever saw was where the "urinals" were simply troughs in the middle of the room. Like totally open, no hiding, no wall to stare at. It was at an amphitheater here in Denver. If it wasn't for the fact that I haven't stood to pee since I was 11 years old (that's dysphoria for you) I would have been mortified.

I have suffered with BPH for years and the inability to get a complete evacuation of the bladder was maddening. There was always some that dribbled out and wet the front of my pants sometimes to the extreme. To say the least it was embarrassing.
I always sit to urinate if possible but if I cant I just pull the waistband of my panties down and pee-no problem.
I was on estrogen for a while and it helped alot with the shrinking of the prostate but now that I am not on it my prostate is getting larger again. It is easier to do when sitting.

But you can't sit on a urinal, can you? The ones I've seen don't look like this is the case. I guess what I'm saying is that I doubt that anyone cares if you're sitting or standing and who looks under the stalls? If I did though and saw a guy sitting I would assume he's taking a dump, and I wouldn't be listening and think, "hmm, I only heard pee, I wonder why he's sitting?" I mean really do you think people do this? I think they just want to get business done and go.

reasons to sit..
1) the enlarged prostate you just mentioned
2) a genital piercing (prince Albert)
3) you are just tired
4)you need to go number 2 and number one
5)too lazy to aim

My other half sits (and he's not that old!). He lived in Japan for awhile and said that plenty of men sit over there. Only if a public restroom is really nasty will he not sit.

Hi again
Not necessarily wanting to continue this theme any longer than is convenient :D the worst is when all the urinals are being used and the only one available is that low down one for the children and you are dieing to go >:(
Thats when sitting becomes a pleasure.
Sarah, reverting back to herself.

If a Prince Albert is done properly it will not effect the flow of urine.
