I had a rather interesting experience with provera actually i think it robbed me of some fem down time.
Here is how it went, under a doctors care I always have taken it in very small dosages for I would say the first two years. At that time my testy level was low but I still had some fluids upon climax. I might also note that my dosage for estrogen was high.
Then I move to a new town and found a new doctor who has several TS clients but he was like the doc in town. I put me on a high dose provera and lower dose estrogen so for so for 3 years I followed his proscription only to find that (specially in the last year) my body hair was growing like crazy and lets say I was feeling more sexual then before with lots of fluid on climax.
So I started to read up on this using PDR'S and the internet and I found that some sites were indicating that Provera can be changed in your body to testosterone. ???
So just in the nick of time my Doc Leaves and a new one takes his place and I expressed my concerns :police: and he change my reg to estrogen only w/spiro and now in the last 2 years I have experienced more Feminisation then in all the 5 years prior and zero fuid on climax.
So with that story being told I wonder what other girls experiences are with provera ? I certain wish I would have never taken it.
Thank You
Kristina

Yep. Progestins (Provera) are known to have androgenic-like effects, counter-acting the estrogen. And cause mood swings, etc.
However, progesterone (Prometrium) doesn't seem to have these downsides.

Yeah, unfortunately synthetic progestins are known to cause masculinizing effects on a woman. Personally, I was never prescribed provera during my pre-SRS hormonal regimen; my doctor does not think that provera helps a MTF person in any way, with the exception, of perhaps, a little bit more of breast tissue development if the patient has the right genetics; otherwise, in her medical point of view, progestins are useless.
