Title: Do you like your height and body shape?
Post by: Marta on August 15, 2011, 06:22:36 PM
In some posts ive read about how some women here do not feel comfortable with their height's. I myself am almost 5'8 and when i wear heels i am usually around 6 feet tall and my boyfriend hates when i wear heels  since he's only about 5'10-5'11.  In my family i am the tallest woman since my mom, aunts, cousins and sisters are all mostly short and petite so at least on my mom's side im viewed as more "exotic" haha. Also i am not petite at all i am more large in structure in every aspect (not fat just big)big feet, big thighs, hips, boobs, etc. I cant count how many times i was called "fat" in high school just because of my structure. Sometimes i feel kinda bad cuz i cant share things like shoe's and clothes with my sisters- im a size 9 and they wear between a 6 and 7 also this is a bit weird to me but i am plus sized only from the waist down- mainly because of my butt, hips and thighs. It honestly still makes me feel a little bit self concious that i have to buy all my bottoms from the plus size section or online  :( the best way i can describe myself is kinda like Donna Pinciotti from That 70's show  tall and just big in general. I just felt like writing this cuz just a few minutes ago my aunt Kim was talking to me about how she hates being tall, thick having big feet and hands and even though she is a bit bigger than me in every aspect i know how she feels but i try to look at the good parts of being tall and big like i was a good ballerina in high school, guys find me "exotic" im "curvier" and i do stand out more than other girls haha. Anyway that was just a little rant and i wanna tell you girls (especially the one's that feel the way my aunt does) not every woman is little or frilly or skinny or whatever we all come in a different package yes even genetic women like me  sometimes feel the way you do. Even if you are 6'3 or whatever there's always an upside to it.

I highly approve of your message!

I am pretty much satisfied with my height and body shape, though, because it's pretty much within female norms.

BUT thinking like you do "not every woman is little or frilly or skinny or whatever we all come in a different package yes even genetic women like me " Helps me ignore the more difficult stuff to hide all the time.

I don't mind my height or build, I just don't like how 100% of my fat goes to the front of my belly. It's the only reason I bother to stay skinny, if I had a more even or female fat distribution I wouldn't mind gaining weight.

I do have large feet, but I don't think that will ever be a problem. I don't see myself ever wearing pointy high heels anyway.

I'm pretty comfortable with being 5'11", and even wear wedges that boost me to about 6'2".  Then again, it could be that my sister is 5'10" and does the same.  My brother is 6'3" so my idea of height is probably fairly skewed.

As for my body, I wish my boobs would grow and my feet were smaller than a women's US11.  At least I don't need wides, despite having 12 toes.

Have to keep skinny though because I have scoliosis that points my entire belly area outward.  Any weight makes me look like I have a pot belly.

Other than that, things are good! :)  I've even grown to love my legs and wear short shorts all the time.  But not butt shorts because those are just nasty.

Yes, but I'm pretty tiny as far as male dimensions go. I just wish my shoe size wasn't 10.5 in womens, ugh. And I have pretty wide finger knuckles but they aren't wayyyy too bad.

Marta. I wish I had your proportions.
My zero area is my shoulders, biceps, and forearms.  My legs butt and belly are fine, but I would like more curves.  Im working on ridding my body of muscle as fast as possible and then I plan on eating food with a high fat content just to get some junk, then as needed I will resume regular diet. Well, a healthy one.

Thats my plan anyways.
Currently I am 5'11 and 175
probably have 10-25 pounds in my shoulders biceps and forearms

I know how you feel about those difficult to hide things, i have some hairy arms for a girl- they arent like incredibly omg! hairy but i have darkish arm hair that makes them a bit more noticeable, now i just like to joke about them especially with my friends i like to compare arm hair with my friends, weird but yeah

that happens to my older sister, me and my sister's all have different body shapes and when we gain weight we all get it in different parts id say me and my youngest sister have better luck with body proportions especially when we gain weight, but i think you are lucky because if you stay skinny you will look fine some people are naturally like that- i have aunts that are "apple" shaped and they are bulky at the top and have small legs and stuff

I have family member's especially my aunts that have less feminine proportions, most of my aunts have a bigger upper body ( shoulders, arms, hands, etc) and smaller lower half. I was luckier to take after my fathers side of the family. My older cousin who is 22 now was a swimmer when we were in high school and now she has VERY broad shoulders. Im sure you can lose some muscle :)

Haha yeah i luv to wear heels but being 5'9 i kinda stick out in a crowd. I've noticed when people (especially men) see a tall woman they like auto-zone in on her like a hawk searching for prey.   :D  I don't really mind being tall anymore i look at it as being model tall and i embrace it, being 143 pounds and having a small to medium body frame helps too. I would LUV to have more curves thou...i envy curvy women.  :icon_anger:

i love being taller as well, especially in my family since all the women are like 5'4 and below  but i think if your taller and skinny you have that more model look. I think being curvier can make it a little bit more difficult to find clothes and stuff at least that's the problem i have but i think skinny and curvy are both fine i wouldnt mind being either but sometimes i wish i was just skinny

I'm (almost) 5'9" and I don't mind it.  Yes it does give me long legs, and that's okay too.  I've put on a couple kilos since transition but I'm much softer and curvier now than before, especially after surgery, and I find I really kind of like my shape now.

I saw this french movie the other night with a stunning actress, Hafsia Herzi, who despite having a little plumpness managed to pull off a very sexy belly dance (see @ 1:14 below).  I figure if she can do it, there's hope for not-so-skinny girls everywhere ;)

Yeah, my legs are ridiculously long.  They look longer than they are because I have a truncated torso caused by my curved spine.  I probably would have been 6'1" or 6'2" without the scoliosis.

Doesn't stop me from enjoying the extra height of wedges though.  The way I see it, guys who love legs will be all over me.  Because it's not like I can attract them with my nonexistent boobs!  Gotta work what you have. ;)

Took this pic last week of how my body looked from the side.  I like the shape of it!

I do not like my height (5'11). Sticks out and attracts attention when I just want to blend and mind my own business.

Big shoulder, big rib cage, big hands, big feet, totally self-conscious and will trade with anyone who would want them for smaller ones if I can.

I am fine with my hip even though I do not have the pelvic angle a genetic girl has or the amount of roundness in the bum.  My thigh bone is quite big at the joint with the pelvic bone that I did have a little bit of curve when I was skinny thin before HRT started.

I am more on the skinny side, i dont have much breasts or curves and that bothers me. I however am 5'4 so im quite in the range of genetic women. I really dislike my face though its still very masculine to me and not close to anything that i really like. Even though you are 5"8 and have big feet and such your lucky you are curvy and have a gorgeous face i would love to have a face like you'rs Marta

IIRC, the guidelines I heard from a modeling agency for women to do the catwalk was a minimum of 5'9"

I actually really like my height - I'm 6'1". I'm skinny and small boned, with crazy long legs (27" waist, 36" hips, 36" inseam). My boobs are tiny, sadly, but hopefully that will change. The only real issue is my shoulders are disproportionate enough to my waist that finding button-ups that fit is a serious pain (since they have no give). Either I wear a medium and it's too tight on the shoulders, or I wear a large and it looks like a bag.

Oh, and my feet are a 12 women's but I don't really give a damn. Why are you staring at my feet anyway? :P

This is one of those things for me.  I don't see myself ever being able to like my body, but maybe one day I won't hate it.  We shall see I guess.

I do really appreciate the sentiment of this thread though.  It's good to know people, even those I might be jealous of, actually deal with the same or similar problems I do.  It actually made my cry a bit, but good tears!  Happy, humanity ones!  I <3 you for reaching out, Marta, it was a nice gesture :).

I'm 5' 9", which is pretty average, so no worries there. My body shape...I actually had wide-ish hips before I started HRT, and even after 2.5 months I'm getting much more of a girlish hourglass figure than I used to already. I'm content with that.

My only real discontent with things I cannot change are my outer appendages. My hands, well, they aren't really that big. They're on the big side for women but I have female friends that have bigger hands than I. I'm not terribly worried about my hands. My feet are large though. I have size 12 men, which is of course size 14 in women. Bleh.

On the plus side, I've found that people really don't give a hoot about feet sizes. It's not an obvious feature that clues everyone in to potential non-femininity. It's one of the more inconspicuous things about your body, to be honest. Now, I'll have trouble finding large women's shoes, but then again, I mostly just wear unisex Converse shoes anyway.  ;)

Pretty much OK with my frame --- though it's sometimes hard to stay realistic.
I'm 5' 6.5" and wear UK size 7 (heels) - 8 (flats) shoes.

Age helps -- AND of course it doesn't help! What woman WANTS to be old?!
I wear a size 12 bottom (10 starts getting too tight) and a size 14 top, 16 became too big for most stuff.

I have good legs, a number of GG commented on, just out of the blue - didn't know any of them - guess they just HAD TO say something.

Have small-ish A cups (38), yet going padded to a B, often gives me a sense that it just 'projects' too much for being comfy AND real. Often seems just too padded depending one what top I wear.

Face definitely could look more femme and at least some younger.
Got a flat tummy, not too narrow butt, and almost (still) too sporty, square-ish shoulders.

All in all I do like myself, still with a sense of realism.

Axelle

You shouldn't be... :)  If you have skinny hands and fingers, you can get away with pretty much any length.  I've got a 6'8" armspan, part of which has to do with my enormous hands.  Stretched out, the distance from the tips of my pinkies to the tips of my thumbs is 9.5", and my hands measure 8" from wrists to the tips of my middle fingers.  But I've had other women admire my rings and never show any hint that they read me, even after looking closely at my monster paws.

Aside from the few professional and college basketball players I've met, I've never met anybody with hands as large as mine, male or female.

I'm fine with my height, at 5'9".  My body shape is a bit more muscular than I'd like, but there are ways I can work on that.  My brow is my most bothersome feature, IMO.

It's weird.  A few months ago I felt like I could never pass, but after really looking at myself and other women I think I'll be alright.

Yeah, that's a good point. My hands are actually fairly skinny and long, so they have a daintiness to them. My friend claims up and down that HRT has slightly altered the fat distribution in my hands already (not that that's particularly possible anyway, even with HRT), but she's probably just tickling my ego there and being nice.  ;D

the overall answer is no. But since I can never answer any question in one sentence....

I make a distinction between my "mind's eye" view of myself and that which is even worth griping about in the real world.

My ideal self - the one i feel like fits my mental image of who i am...my "spirit" if you will ...THAT girl is a tiny little thing, no more than 5'3" (and preferably less) and no more than 110 pounds though curvy still, not rail thin.

Laying that aside - I still can't stand what I have to work with:

1. too bloody fat. some of that's my fault, some of it is genetics, either way it's a monumental aggravation. i could lose 100 pounds and still look reasonably healthy, if not more - and the big majority of that is gut, which is a horribly male distribution. I could live with being overweight somewhat more if there was a more feminine distribution - but still not this big.

2. rib-cage, shoulder-width, upper-body thickness. I'll never fit  into some of the things I'd most like to wear, even with significant weight loss, because of the bone structure.

3. shoe size - 11W, VERY difficult to find reasonably priced shoes in my size (though I did luck into a very cute pair of tennies at Dirt cheap recently). in fact, overall my biggest objection to my body size is CLOTHES - r specifically the LACK thereof. Between my non-existent income and my size, my wardrobe is shameful. If i got a good professional job next week I have no idea how I'd fake my way through a couple of weeks of dressing nice...

4. Height. i saw a girl in the grocery today, in her 20's, who had an inch or two on me. i perfectly lovely young lady, and not the first I've seen. Still, if i had my way I'd drop at least 2 or 3 inches even if i can't be petite as i'd like. i think I could work with, say, 5'8" or so...right now I am somewhere between 5'10 and 5'11" depending on the accuracy of my measurements and how much denial i'm in. Still, I do have to admit that if i wasn't so overweight I could probably tolerate 5'10" ok, I see a cis-woman as tall as me or more pretty much every day so I'm not standing out too much on that account.

I need to lose my belly (it's going slowly) and occasionally I feel that my shoulders are too wide (but there is little I can do about that).   The bags under my eyes are my biggest worry as they are getting increasingly deep.

Currently 5'9", would rather be like 5'3". But my frame is pretty slim but that could just be that I have like 0 bodyfat and all skeleton (46kg! which also gives the illusion of wider hips) and my ribs aren't large which I'm lucky for, shoulders could be a bit smaller but they're not massive. Best part I probably like about my body is my flat stomach.

Overall I'd give my body a strong 5 to light 6.

The thing is, all the things we worry about being tells or shows...no one notices. I recently owned up to what the mysterious operation I'm having in november is to a group of friends who have only known Helena, and along with not treating me any differently I asked the girls last time we had a girly night round mind if they would have guessed. The answer was not really...they'd noticed I'd had a small adams apple, but it hadn't clicked until i'd said anything.

This isn't going to stop me getting a trach shave, but i know it's completely for my comfort, not to remove an obvious sign post.

The answer was not really...they'd noticed I'd had a small adams apple, but it hadn't clicked until i'd said anything.

This isn't going to stop me getting a trach shave, but i know it's completely for my comfort, not to remove an obvious sign post.

I agree with that sometimes we are our own biggest critics

Well, I'm 5' 10" which around here (the Netherlands) is not unusually tall for women. I don't stand out in a crowd at all. I have a colleague who is Swedish, and she is taller than I am. Although I believe Swedes are known for being tall? Either way, I am perfectly happy with my height.

My feet are something of a mixed bag. On the plus side I only wear between a US size 8 and 9. Whether it is an 8, 8½ or a 9 depends on the shoe. The downside is that I have flat feet (from birth) and that finding shoes that look good, have a semblance of comfort, fit reasonably well and stay on my feet when I walk is a challenge. The main problem is that when I am not putting weight on my foot the toes are together (shoe falls off my foot or stays behind when I walk) and when I do put weight on my foot the toes spread (toes crammed up painfully against the front and side of the shoe).

At 132 Lbs. (60 Kilo's) I could gain some weight but somehow it won't stay on. So while my boobs are adequate my but and hips are pathetic. Pants are either too tight around the waist and OK through the hips or OK around the waist and too big through the hips.

I really dislike my height (6foot1) but I'm somewhat satisfied with my body with the exception of my disgustingly sharp elbows. They don't look normal at all! :( Maybe eventually I'll have them fixed. But I certainly feel I have lucked out otherwise. In general I'm fairly tiny; size 10 (US) shoes, small shoulders, wrists, knees etc. It certainly could be worse off.

The height is only a bother because of not being able to wear certain things, and I feel I'm too tall for my frame.

IIRC, the guidelines I heard from a modeling agency for women to do the catwalk was a minimum of 5'9"

Yes, the most sought after for runway modelling are between 5'9" and 5'11."

Absolutely correct!  And for guys it's 6'0" to 6'2".  Back when I was about 22 or 23, I was scouted by a modeling agency because of my face, but it turned out they couldn't use me because I was 5'11".  That gave me quite a nasty complex about my height for a long time (feeling so short).  It's a big part of why I'm 100% comfortable about being a 5'11" woman and wouldn't want to lose a single inch!  In fact, it's why I wear 3" wedges and still walk around feeling beautiful and confident about my passing ability.

Marta i think it's a bit different your experience from our's. You are a genetic woman and you have the privilige of having naturally occuring hormones that feminize your body and face. You have a beautiful face because you are a genetic woman but sometimes even if our bodies are passable we still have the problem of having a masculine face or features such as me. Sometimes just the face can be a dead giveaway when you are trying to pass. I sometimes tend to go out in girl mode and i have been clocked plenty of times because of my facial features and voice. You'r wide hips, breasts, pelvis, etc are all different from ours just because you were lucky enough to have xx chromosomes and im sure you will never have to worry about being outed or clocked when your out in public. I however really appreciate the thread because it shows that sometimes we think we are the only ones that have the problem of having too big hands, feet. etc or just things that we want to be more feminine. Although you are correct about somethings i dont think you can ever understand the full trans experience.

I think you're being unfair on Marta...being born female does not give you a beautiful face, having beautiful parents does, your facial bone structure is mainly down to genetics. Yes there are differences between how male and female hormones effect your facial bone structure but they only add to what's already there. Marta's insecurities (sorry hun...I know you said you liked your height :) ) about her body shape are no less legitimate than yours, because lets face it I've yet to meet a woman that was 100% happy with how they look, and in fact serve to show that being born female is not a magic ticket to a perfect life. All us girls together have to make do with what we have...regardless of how we get there.

Also please don't think that being born female gives you a magic free pass to never being mis-gendered because it doesn't...I've got a couple of friends that get it all the time. Heck, my friend Emily has a deeper voice and broader shoulders than me! But that doesn't mean she questions her femininity.

Very very true!  I have a friend with a MUCH deeper voice than mine and she's not trans.  I'd prove it by linking a video of hers, but I'm not going to.

Then there's another friend of mine who's totally gorgeous and I always have to remind her of that because she never believes it.  Whether she's fretting about her weight (she's not heavy), her large breasts, that she's short, has some hair on her toes, has fuzzy arms, a bit of hair on her upper lip (I sometimes take her to the laser sessions she just started), she's never content.  But I think she's completely beautiful.  She just can't see it.

Women of all sorts are beautiful!  Stressing about our flaws is just one of those natural female things...

I think that thought is a trait that is very female, for what it is worth.

My height is ok at 5' 7".

But I dislike my bodyshape. When I stared HRT in the late 1990's I assumed I would get a more feminine body shape and better fat re-distribution. But it hasn't happened and my upper body is bigger than my lower body and I'm quite repulsed as my body shape naked still looks male. My boobs are also way too small and the wrong shape.

The main thing I dislike about my body shape is that I don't know what it is!

I've been obese my entire adult life. I've been working to lose the weight, but I'm kind of afraid to find out what lies under all this bulk. I've always felt like I looked absurdly masculine, and it just seems to get worse with every pound I lose. It doesn't help that the more I lose weight, the more I get complimented on what an attractive man I am...

I know losing weight will help a lot when I start hormones, but I can't help but feel I'm moving backwards when it comes to my body image.

At least hormones might fix that stuff. My feet are so wide, I have to special order my men's shoes. I don't even want to think about how I'm going to deal with that.

Eh, I could hope for better in most categories. I'm 6'2" and built like a football player, with a relatively masculine face and pretty big feet. I think my only naturally feminine features are my arms and hands. My arms are actually short for my height, and my hands are rather petite. Overall, since most of my features are here to stay, I might as well learn to use them to my advantage, though I'm not exactly sure what that advantage would be or how to obtain it. Unfortunately, it looks like heels won't be working well with me at all :(.

To answer the question, I'm not a fan of my height and body type at all, but I'm stuck with it so I might as well embrace it.

I do quite like them. :)  I'm 6'1" and do sometimes wish I could be just a couple inches shorter, but other than that I'm very happy.  I have relatively wide hips for someone born male (at the widest point, the same width as my shoulders) and normal sized hands and feet for a girl my height.  The only thing I want to work on a little is the shape of my ribcage, for which I'm planning to corset train and lose a couple inches soon.  Nothing extreme, once I can fully close the one I have I'm not going to go any further.

Overall I can't complain really. 5'7 hips and shoulders the same size as each other. 10.5stone and for a female and I'm able to lift my own body weight. and quite flat chested. it's a body shape that would work well with a female gymnast.

Of course I'm not a gymnast XD. so in an ideal world I'd have an extra inch or two of bust, and would prefer to be .5 of a stone lighter. But yeah I know I got off pretty easy on that front.

Reoopen the tips which stop growing, so we can reduce or add up to 4" sounds perfectly achievable, I can imagine it being used far more to grow the bones, anymore more than 4-5 inches I can imagine they'd have to reform other things like our heads haha.   There's 6' 8 models (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.ezinemark.com%2Fimagemanager2%2Ffiles%2F30002496%2F2010%2F12%2F2010-12-31-20-18-47-3-its-so-crazy-but-true-that-the-celebrity-earns.jpeg&hash=512688c7db520c948efff5b65c9f15047e8c0855) no height is too tall :)

hi Marta, nice to meet you. I am tall too. I am 5' 11" barefoot and even a low 4" heel makes me 6' 3" lol! I have a size 11 foot (11 in womens) i really hate that. Rarely, i find a genetic female that is as tall or taller than I and I want so bad to ask her how much she weighs, but dont want to be rude. My weight hovers around 155 (+/- 3lbs) and I have always wondered how much a genetic female weighs that is as taLL AS i.  just thought that i would offer my 3 cents worth.

I also wanted to thank you for using this site because it is nice to hear from genetic females, (though i hear a LOT of things at school, sometimes raising even my eyebrows! beauty school wil do that!)

I should be but I just don't see it, even gg's will say "your so skinny"

I just don't see it, I see such manly traits yet. I'm so obsessed with having proportions of a typical female. I am at the small side for every body measurement for woman but I still don't see it.

My ratio for hips to waist is just a little above the 77% that is typical for women but again I don't see it. 27" waist 34" hips. The only thing that is not in range for average is my height and that isn't much higher at 5'6.5"

Overall

Weight 126#

Height 5'6.5"

waist 27"

Bust 33.5" ugh!! because under chest 31.5"

Hips 34"

Feet size 8 womans

My hands, neck, head, shoulders, arms. legs and so on are all on the smaller side for female.

WHY!! do I feel like this big girl. I know when I am around men I feel the total opposite, I feel so small to some men even though there not much taller.

Shelly

Oh I forgot HEELS! OMG I feel like a giant how do you girls that are 5'10" and above do it. How do you get over that feeling of feeling like Gigantica woman.

It's odd, when I was still presenting as a guy, I hated my height. I think cause I wanted to disappear most of the time. Now I love it - 6'1". I think it is a variety of things. My body has a female shape to it, 36-27-36 and 135lbs, so it really comes across as girl-tall not guy-tall. I don't really have any interest in heels, so I'm never going to be any taller. I live in an environment where I see girls who are around my height on a daily basis. And I don't date guys - I hear that some guys don't like women who are taller than them (wusses).

There are aspects of my body that bother me, but height really isn't one of them.

Honestly, you seem rather small to me. My ex hated being 5'8" cause she thought she was too short - her sisters are all 6' or taller. It's all a matter of perspective. ;)

I like being 5'5 But I wish I could lose a bunch of this muscle mass. I need to lose weight from my belly too. Since starting HRT I've gained 5 lb so now I weigh 180lb. I have small hands, almost no adams apple So I have that going for me. My love handles give me a curvy figure so I have mixed feelings about that. I wish my breasts would grow more, but its only been 6 months. I'd love to have hips too but I guess I missed that train since I'm 32 now. And I'm a size 9 in shoes.

Yes I did when I was a guy, but I seem bigger now as a girl.

When I was a man I felt like this scrawny little guy even though I wasn't that small 5' 7"  (yes lost 1/2 inch with hrt) and 145-155 weight.

As a girl I'm on the lower side of everything but seem bigger then the average woman.

Your dimensions sound good a little on the thin side, at 6'1" and being that thin I don't know how you got 36" bust. I have been trying to eat more unhealthy hoping it goes to the hips and boobs, 20 Twinkies later no such luck not a pound or inch.

I'm not a pilot, but I remember reading somewhere that pilots have to keep in mind "TRUST YOUR INSTRUMENTS".

When there's low visibility (night, fog, etc) it's easy to sense your plane turning when it's going straight--or going straight, when it's actually turning--and if you go by what your ears (balance organs) tell you, you will crash.

TRUST YOUR INSTRUMENTS.  :police:  If they say you're not turning, you are NOT turning. If they say you are turning, you are NOT going straight.

So in your case, learn to trust your instruments--the scale, the tape measure, other people's observations. You're looking pretty darn good for any woman (based on the numbers), so it sounds like it's just in your head.

Hope this helps!

This is cute, thanks hun!

Problem is I just don't trust them.

Oh I forgot there are a couple of things I have that aren't female. Adams apple (not noticeable) , but how many women have one of those? short fingers and the biggest one sun damaged face and I AM UGLY!!

Height 5'8
Weight 135
no bust to speak of haven't started HRT :/
waste 28-29
hips are about 34ish

so yeah a typical guy body :( I just hope that HRT with added fat (redistribution) will help....
I'm just glad that I don't have very large bones and that a lot is from fat with underlying muscle, not that I want to lose it all I still want to do well in martial arts.
I don't mind my height because I'm fairly common but in my opinion (note my opinion) shorter is cuter taller is sexier ^^

Yes, I'm 10lbs underweight and trying to gain that, though it's hard - old eating disorder. And I'm an A cup, not exactly a large bust. I'd like to trade muscle for fat on my chest so I go to a B without going above 36, lose another inch on my shoulders and add 2 to my hips. That would pretty much be ideal. With 10lbs and another year on hormones I might just get it too. :)

I love my height. I'm 5'5. The only problem is that I love to wear high heels which then makes me look like a giant next to my boyfriend, lol. As far as my body shape, I like being thick(not fat). I think it's nice and sexy. And I was blessed to have what my boyfriend calls, a JLO butt, hehe. I just wish my waist was smaller and my hips a bit wider but I'll survive.

Hormones gave me a nice butt and hips. I guess because I have a small bust, I got a nice toosh. I need to lose my belly fat though, that's the only issue I got with my body. But then again, carbs carbs carbs!

I'm 6' and ~175 - and love my body.  Now.:)  It was awesome how quickly my butt and hips have started filling out!  175 is my target weight through all this - it's on the high side of the normal range of BMI for a woman of my height.  I think it's easier for me to pass having some weight on me - if I was rail thin like I was in high school (135), I would not nearly have the curves that I have now.  Also, I've always been attracted to women who didn't look starving, so it only makes sense to me to NOT become a woman who looks starving.:)

I agree with you regarding having some weight. During the 1st semester of this year I was all nuts about losing weight so I was doing cardio exercises 7 days/week and cutting every carb and calories. I did manage to go from 87 kg (~191lbs) to 78 kg (~171lbs). However, I lost mainly fat from face and breasts but the belly was still there (obviously...  )and noticed I was being clocked more often  >:( Had  to step back with that plan, which wasn't a problem at all since I love (junkie) food  ;D

I was always skinny. I think hormones helped out a lot more. I had gained a lot of muscle from 2005-2008 as I was getting into more lifting, walking, etc... I had always been short as a boy and I think that helps me out a lot. Men around here like "shortys". The average height of a man is 5'9" due to having a large Latin populous. Men are attracted to short girls for the most part.

I want to lose my belly though. That was always the big issue with me.

Geeee, I wouldn't be a woman if I didn't like something about my body :)

5'11'' former 6 footer but lost 1" in the last 8 months of HRT, 163...no wait.........167.........no wait again.........165 so that's how my day goes, sometimes fluctuations of 7-8 lbs per day. I am on the 700-800 calorie diet but sometimes there are days I eat about 30000 calories and feel pregnant all day.

I  love what I have achieved , from 220 lbs body builder to 160something curvacious with hips thighs small waist (could be smaller) and between 36A-B all in 8 months of HRT

I went on holiday and had creme brule last night and fried chicken w waffles today. I think I can't eat any more.

I lost all muscle mass through HRT as well.

Men say they like two things about me...the cute plump cherry ass and the pretty face. No complaints. Implants and rhinoplasty/lip aug will take care of the rest.

At first I thought my height wasn't too bad at 5' 7" but most women around here in the U.K where I live are 5' 5" or under, so I still look a bit taller than many girls.  My biggest problem is my bodyshape which is too big on the upper body compared to the lower body. Transitioning into a female shape is a very hard thing to achieve and it's starting to get me down after more than 10 years of trying different meds and not achieving much.

My shoe size is a size 7 which isn't that big but my feet are wide so a lot of really fem shoes are too narrow for my feet.

at 5'11, i stick out like a sore thumb compared to most women. unless i was around a bunch of female models, it's pretty rare for me to find any females as tall/taller than me. i've noticed black women are taller, so it definately varies through different races. the next thing is, my shoe size is 11 1/2 in wearing male sneakers. finding womens shoes in size 12 is pushing it at most shoe stores. i just learned to appreciate myself for everything i am. my tallness makes me unique, and really distinguishes me from most females. it seems like the worst fear of a transsexual person is not being able to blend in with the melting pot of society, which goes deeper than gender really. i guess just be happy for being able to pass, and that's all most of us really wanted/needed in the first place.

One thing I am wondering, for those who have been on HRT for a while, did you find that you got noticeable fat redistribution in the hip area?

I have a good bone structure but my fat is deposited too much around the love handle area so it looks like took my hips and moved them up by 5 inches and just very strange. So I am hoping HRT will fix that.

I've been on HRT for over 10 years and I haven't got any fat redistribution in the hip area. I too have fat deposited in the wrong place, the so called 'love handle area'. Don't get your hopes up as HRT may make it worse!

I suggest you try and loose the fat around your middle before you start on HRT otherwise the HRT will target the fat area you already have and make it worse which I think is what's happened to me. I only had a little fat around my middle before HRT and the HRT seems to deposit more fat in that area only. So loose the fat around the middle first and you may have a chance of the HRT targeting another area more favorable.

5'10" (1.78 m) and 130 lbs (59 kg).  I used to hate being as tall as I was (to the point where I became anorexic in an attempt to halt my growth), but now, I really love being tall, and don't feel any desire to be shorter.  My shoulders are still a little broad, but within the female norm, and I'm proud of my hips.

For the first time in my life, I love my body.  It's a really great feeling.

I'm curious as to how others consider anything above 5'8" "stare-worthy".  I know some people have talked about how they feel like they're taller than everyone else around them at that height, and I guess for the most part that's true, considering that 5'9" is (I think) about 2 standard deviations above the mean for women.  But if you otherwise pass, people aren't going to call you out on your height, I don't think- at least, that's been the case with me.  Tall women exist, ladies and gents.

There are barely any women taller than me, but sometimes I see them .  Today I saw  a handful of them actually when shopping , most around my own age or younger...guess today's girls get taller and taller ^^

Anyway, I'm 6'2, 150lbs and shoe size 10 I think ....not really a perfect start but having a litte bit of a more femme locomotion helps a little bit

Yes, I do - also since I have no other, - I might as well do. :-)

I like athletic women like myself with wide-ish shoulders and good calves/legs.
Few females my age can show up with any of that.
Nobody is perfect in any case - not even models :-)

I'm as flat as Kate Moss, nothing wrong that either. Not for her and not for me.

Oh, yes, and I'm 5' 6" which is perfect for my liking also.
No need to be too petit, since I'm not in any case...

I'm 5'11" and have a shoe size of I think 10-ish (43-44 EU) and not too happy with that, but it could be worse I guess.

As for my overall body shape, my lower body is quite feminine while my upper body is masculine (big chest etc). Hoping HRT will help some there.

I guess I am happy with some things... bearing in mind I have only been on estrogen for 6 weeks
I take size 7 shoes
I have little hands and I have a small frame small knees, wrists etc etc
I do have broad shoulders though :(
I have an athletic build with some evenly distributed body fat.
I am 5ft 10"
I have 38" hips
I have 31" waist  - still trying to loose weight here but do not want to risk loosing it from by bum and newly forming breasts.
I have 38" chest.

I am hopeful the HRT will help me more.  I exercise twice a week for 90 mins and do cardio and exercises that build bulk and shape hips, bum and legs.  i am going to reduce it though for a month or so to allow for a bit of weight gain and see where it gravitates to. :-\

OP: You are one inch taller than me and you STILL have a smaller shoe size than I do. That's sad... :(

Anyway, I suppose I like my bodily proportions. At least somewhat so. Except my feet, I think they're too big. Everything else is okay, though. I have some moderate "hippage" going and a feminine shape to my face. My general body has a feminine frame too, so I can't complain about that. Albeit, it's a "bigger" feminine shape. My family generally have big bones and that has obviously passed on to me.

Oh and I seem to be getting fatter lately... mostly because I eat constantly and then don't exercise. I blame the hormones and my own lazy tendencies. >.>

Im surprised at how many people here are shorter than me. There was a time in my life when i wanted to be shorter- middle school mostly, but i really learned to love being 5'7, which is considered tall for a gg. I feel awesome being around other women (and sometimes men) and being taller than them  which is most of the time for the girls that is. Especially wearing tall shoes- it definitely makes me stand out from other girls, ive even been called "statuesque" by some people and honestly that was really awesome :) i think tall girls are definitely cool

Actually, taller girls are widely considered (widely meaning by a LOT of people) to be "more attractive" than shorter girls. I think it's the legs! It may be a little different for t-women, though, because usually they're trying to move away from the male as far as possible and situate themselves within "female territory". Basically, even though taller women are considered "sexier", it is easier for trans-women to associate something like their height to being GUY!

I do it all the time with plenty of things, so I know what it feels like, but thankfully not with my height. It's actually one of the few things I like about myself -- I have sexier legs!! No, I don't know lol, but I figure the taller I am, the smaller my feet and hands seem. XD

... not every woman is little or frilly or skinny or whatever we all come in a different package ...

Sorry for the intrusion, ladies, but this one statement really caught my attention, and I thought I might contribute to it. :P

I have two sisters - one older, one younger - and both are tall for their age. My older sister - nineteen - is 5'11" around 135 lbs with a size 9.5 in women's shoes. My younger sister - twelve - is almost as tall as I am, only two inches shorter at 5'3", and she will most likely be 5'10" by the time she reaches my age. Her shoe size is 7 in women's and she weighs around 80 lbs (yes, we feed her). Now, both of my sisters are pretty, they may have some attitude issues, but they are beautiful nonethless. Despite this I have no doubt that they wouldn't get as much attention (current for my older sister, future for my younger) without the extra inches.

Being tall is kinda like having blonde hair - it's "exotic". Now, I'm not saying that shorter ladies cannot be beautiful - I myself prefer brunettes  ;) - I'm just saying that height is relative, and it won't make you any more or less of a woman if you have a few more inches than the average female.

around 5'6 or 5'7,  110-115lb, 15" shoulders, 28" ribcage (not counting boobs), 24" waist, 33" hips, size 9 shoes (womens), overall my frame is pretty small, i guess i'm ok with it. A lot of girls I see outside are either the same size as me or bigger, so i guess i blend in fine.

Apart from "the gronic", pretty much.  I am 6'2" and 200 lb in old (real) measurements.  Like a lot of girls have said  my legs are in pretty good shape, and once the boobs grow a bit more I will very happy.
I would ideally like to end up looking like the woman with real curves modelling swimwear in the current edition of Cosmo. No idea who she is, but she is absolutely stunning as she doesn't look like a stick-insect.

Karen.

Geesh, you all make me feel huge. :P

I'm 6'1", weigh ~165 pounds (and losing steadily), and wear size 10.5 women's shoes.  But they don't really make those so I have to find small 11's or they tend to fall off.  39" bust, 33" underbust, 30" waist, and 42" hips.  I keep putting off the tight-lacing I've been meaning to do, but hopefully I can eventually get my waist down to 26" or so, which is the size of my corset.

Hands are pretty normal for a girl my height - the same size as my mom, sister, and grandmother, who are I think 5'9", 5'7" and 5'6" - and feet are not far off for a girl my height either.  One of my coworkers is 5'10" with the same size hands and feet so I'm not alone at least.

I'm happy overall, but I'd certainly give away a couple inches if I could.

Don't feel bad Amy - you're not as huge as me. :P

I don't know what my pre-HRT measurements were but lemme find my tape measure in the coming days and I'll give you my current measurements.

I feel tiny compared to most of you,  155cm (5'1) about 41-42ish (92-93 lbs). Anyone want to donate some height to me? No I do not like height, my body shape is ok for the most part.

Am I happy with my height? well NO.  But I am happy about one thing. 2yrs ago I was 191cm tall, and now I am 187 :D.

Big feet and big hands is a big issue for me :(, but at least many of my female friends and past girlfriends told me that I have very feminine hands and my nails is very female looking.

Skin in the face is a big NO, I am nog happy about it. But at the rest of my body it is even softer than my girlfriends which makes me happy :D. But she is not that entusiastic about it though.

Otherwise I am pretty happy about my bodyshape. If only my hips and tits would be bigger ;)
