When I was in my early 20s I was looking at womens feet. I noticed that their heel was flat and mine was more round. I spent more time learning why theirs was flat and mine was round. The way that a person walks can make the heel from round to flat or vise versa. I paid attention to how my foot landed on the ground when I walked. Heel first rolled to toes. Try that in high heels. The high heel shoe plays a big role in the way women walk today even if high heels are not worn. If a woman walked in high heels every day for a year would walk the same with out the high heels on which is toes then heel thus making the heel flat. In addition to this no stress is put on the toes keeping them flat also. In six years of walking this way my heels are flat and my big toes don't look like Fred Flintstone's anymore.

Interesting analysis. My grandparents used to always tell us when we ran around the house barefoot that our feet will become larger. They said it especially to the girls so they would have nice feet when they grew up. I don't believe this. A person has physical characteristics and I think they are independent of how we treat our feet.
It is an interesting observation though.

If I could shrink my feet, I would. They're like frogman's flippers.

I'm glad to hear that as life's too short to have enemies :) we'll have to stay away from discussing bad hair days though as my hair is worse than my feet right now

Someone on here a while back mentioned that their feet changed size once they were on MTF HRT. Does anyone else have that experience? I'd love mine to get narrower (so long as it didn't stop me dancin' :)).

I have prehensile toes. I can pick up objects with them... It's a family thing. I've walked on my toes since I was a child and all I managed to get is short and tight achilles tendons. I would love a size smaller foot then I could get into women's shoes in the shops. Oh, and a hair narrower.
Toe walking, duck footed grrl. ;)

Interesting. I've always found that women who place toes down first then heel, don't look like they're walking normally and are generally uncomfortable in heels. The idea is to try to walk as normally as possible in your heel, only take smaller steps!

The point is to keep the stress of the big toe to give the muscles time to srink and to make the heel flat on the bottom may just be a missourian thing. All I know is my heel is flat and the musles in my big toes shrunk. Lost musle in my hands by learning not to hold thing really tight.
