Title: Epilating vs Waxing, is there any preference incl. $$$

I'm curious to learn, if apart from simple personal choice, there may be some more/other rational reasons also, for preferring the one method over the other?
I have to say the my Brown epilator, pretty current model, has given my some really nasty "bite-marks" in some more sensitive areas. Not in my face though!
Based on these repeated painful events down below, not legs, but also arm-pits, I now only do face, arms (OUCH!!) and legs.
If it was not for the $$$, I'd merrily go along and have waxing done only, despite the ALWAYS and unavoidable stickiness for about a day where I was waxed.
What's your take, and maybe bring in the seasons too? Do we need waxing, epilating in autumn and winter?

I've never tried waxing, but used an epilator for the first time two days ago. I did my arms. Nothing but problems. :( Started a thread about it here if you're morbidly curious:

As soon as I find a job, I'm going to get waxed and see what difference that makes. And I'm not talking about Madame Tussaud's. ;)

Lower legs seem ~ OK with me to epilate, also most of my thighs and as I said even the face!!
What I don't like is feeling sticky all day long after waxing! In particular down the crotch, ick!
Axelle
PS: Epilate the bum crack? Nooo, NOT REALLY!!!
PPS: Why are the arms so bloody sensitive/painful to epilate? Go tell...

In the end, the Epilator is cheaper.
But be warned, it hurts MUCH worse than waxing.
Youll get red pimples at first until your skin is used to it and it feels like a dog is chewing on your legs lol

I find the legs much more painful than my arms.
Recently I tried waxing at home for the first time. My biggest complaints are the messsiness and the wax that doesn't come off even with wax remover.
I'm so tired of fighting with body hair that I'm going to look into laser and be done with it.

I epilate my face, since I started I have had hair reduction! I love it :) Invest in some good Post Epilation Lotion, it has stuff in it that soothes the skin and reduces irritation
