Police believe Darren Scott, 32, began sending e-mails to staff of the Pacific Center on Jan. 27, Berkeley police Sgt. Mary Kusmiss said.
The initial e-mail contained a reference to violence, Kusmiss said, and later e-mails contained death threats against Pacific Center staff and their children, Kusmiss said.
On Feb. 3, the front glass door of the center was smashed and a man matching Scott's description was seen nearby, according to Kusmiss.
