The Lively Paradox
Partners fearing HRT

One of the questions I see most often from the partners of trans women is "What can I expect, sexually speaking, from hormone therapy?". Women who started off a relationship believing their partner was a man, even if they are bisexual, will often be worried about the effects HRT will have on sexual function and desire. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lot of misinformation circulating in the trans community and the world at large about what a trans woman should be and what the effects of hormones are.

Hm,
It strikes me as a bit one sided that you either hate your male parts, or you don't --- and the consequences derived from that binary position. All HRT related? Really?
Some hate their male parts (not me), some do not hate them (me), but do not want to really use them! (me). Non is HRT related to me.
Some think they appear more and more grotesque as transition moves on (HRT, sometimes me), and some can incorporate it in their being a woman (not me!).
There is a case to be made that for some of us using their males parts brings on GID (me). So we wish to avoid it. It feels embarrassing (me). Socially unacceptable (me also). HRT related? Don't think so either.
Let me repeat what some pretty well known t-girl said: "Women do not have a penis."
It took her some time to come to this insight... but there you go.
And in this case also it had NOTHING to do with HATING your parts, or HRT--- they just WRONG. That's all - for me.
It feels right for me, but may not feel like that to someone else.
Also I think here cis-males in particular. Potential partners?
Soooooo? All is ever so relative once again, ain't it?
This being the case, not ONE SINGLE personal experience may therefore be used as a guiding example or reference. Case closed, un-ask the question.
Some do, some don't, some will, some won't, and for some it's just as well.
I might now be accused of having a mental block that I see a female with a vagina only, and in no way with a penis proper with testes.
It seems non-PC, and even more so looking across the fence to our FtM cousins. What can I say.
My mind has not managed to expand (yet?) despite all the awareness offered to date.
Maybe one day?
Axelle
