Title: Endo in Maryland?
Post by: madirocks on September 03, 2011, 05:05:47 AM
So I scheduled two appointments with different clinics and I'm wondering a couple of things. Both clinics could not give me any real info on a procedure. However, they both did say that I would need to go back again. Could someone please tell me how these first visits usually work?

The first clinic said the first appointment is just like a pre-check, getting to know the doctor etc. And she said I would need to come back a month later to actually start the work.

The second clinic said sort of the same thing and that the doctor would "need to see if I need HRT." I stated I would have a letter from my therapist, but she said she doesn't know anything about that stuff.

As it is, I'm pretty sure the appointment will be quite expensive since my insurance won't cover it. Added on that just getting to the appointment is going to cost me A LOT. Three or four appointments will cost me in the thousands, along with a lot of vacation time.

*edit
I just spoke with my therapist who's said that the endo's I'm referring to have taken people for their money in the past. This is probably why they won't give me a straight answer on a timeframe.

Does any one have advice on a endocrinologist in or near Maryland?

Sounds like a UK thing Madi,
--- you don't disclose location in your profile.

If I'm right, one of the UK girls might give you some insights.

The SA scene is sort of similar but I do not want to confuse the issue.

Thank you for the response. I'm going to the United States for HRT.

Hmmm, I guess none can help with this. Ironic there's so many that are going through HRT.

I'll just call around.
