Houston Po-Po's Behave Badly With African-American Trans Woman

When it comes to transwomen of color, Officer Friendly ain't so friendly to us.
A week has barely passed since the serious incident in northwest Washington DC in which three transwomen got shot at by an off duty MPD cop. A transphobic security guard triggered an incident last November that resulted in an HPD officer arresting transwoman Tyjanae Moore who simply used the gender presentation appropriate bathroom at the Houston Public Library.
Now the Houston Police Department is in the news again for jacking with another African American transwoman.

HOUSTON - Mica Green may be part of Houston's transgender community, but she doesn't want you to treat her any differently because of that.
"In spite my sexual orientation, I'm human like everybody else. My name is Michael. If that's what you want to call me, fine, but in spite of who I am, I'm human," Green said.

Houston's police have historically been jerks. Old blues lyrics about 'If you ever go to Houston' in the Midnight Special by Ledbelly, it's never been friendly relations between the police and anybody really.

You are well informed Tekla (as usual :D, had been accosted a time or two by HPD when I was a Teen...and it didn't matter who the Police Chief was (Herman Short- >:-) or Bradford- :police:), HPD has always had a rep of "shoot first" and "ask no questions later!" I'm sure Ann "O" has a comment :laugh:
