My dad's got a bunch of people coming who have known me since I was about two feet high - some even longer. I'm actually kind of excited as I haven't seen many of them in years. Anyway - a lot of them know about me being trans and think it's great, some know and avoid talking about it, and others just have no idea.
Here's the fun part, and some of you may not think it's a good idea, some of you wouldn't be caught dead doing this, but I'm hella excited. I get to pull a Roger Smith a la American Dad! I'm doing this all on my own will, my dad really doesn't even care, I guess he assumed our old friends would just think I'm a big bulldyke now.
But I'm totally buying a cheap Halloween wig at work, throwing on a dykey beanie, and donning ridiculous make up. :D It'll be awesome!! I'll be like my old self, the one these people I love last saw, only happier and more ridiculous :)
I guess I just like dressing up. It'll probably make some of the people who know about me laugh. And it'll not put a damper on my dad's 50th birthday. After all, he only has one. He still loves me and we actually just had a nice conversation on the phone, which is a wonderful contrast to the swearing screaming match we had a few days ago. But I think he is confused and frustrated with me changing the name he gave me, and not being "the pretty little daughter" he thought I was. Anyway, this day will be a fun little break from reality.
And I'll probably get sloshed. :D
Just thought I'd share.
