Title: Teaching Gay History in California
Post by: Dominatrix ♥ on September 19, 2011, 09:56:19 PM
California lawmakers on Tuesday sent the governor a bill that would make the state the first requiring public schools to include the contributions of gays and lesbians in social studies curriculum.

What do you guys think about these?

Just as they had to include the contributions of other races, I think this is great. It's one big step towards a world where people won't discriminate because of sexual orientation, and in the larger scheme of things, a world where people just don't discriminate (at least hatefully).

Isn't that what history is? It's not confined to a particular group or ideology. I think it's great. GLBT people have contributed much to the betterment of society.

If they teach it like they teach everything else then no one's going to learn anything anyway.
