Title: What to change to (surgically)?
Post by: Metroland on September 22, 2011, 11:02:47 AM

I have always been uncomfortable with my genitals and always wanted to get rid of them. However I don't think that I can say that I want to switch from male to female. I do want to transition but I am not sure to what.
Has anyone tried to change their genitals to something that is not entirely female or male? What if you have a surgery and you don't like what you have transitioned to (surgically speaking)?
Thanks

Per the WPATH SOC, you have to live in the opposite sex for 12 months, two letters of recommendation, before you can have a SRS/GRS.
Good luck finding a surgeon that does not follow the WPATH SOC.
Jamie :)

So, you don't want a penis and you don't want a vagina? Do you identify as a man or woman?
It's not possible to have half a penis and half a vagina if that's what your thinking about. And if you have genital surgery and don't like the results, well you're pretty much screwed because there's no going back. Have you thought of an orchiectomy?
I'm really not sure what to tell you. Just think long and hard before doing something crazy/drastic.

If all else fails, and if you really want surgery let me know, I watched those Youtube Video's along House, ER & Grey's Anatomy - I reckon my surgical skills would be top notch!!! :P

I like how some people are left unfufilled by having to have one or the other, ok I'm going to have just a vagina (one day and one created by Dr Suporn hopefully) because that's the way I function and that's the only reason, but I know there's many who would want a penis and a vagina and why not?, for what is the clitoris but a small penis anyway :)

I'm not sure I'm mean, but I am pretty good with a Swiss Army Knife and Duct Tape - just like MacGyver. I also learned to do sutures from John Rambo in First Blood..... I can totally do this ;D
Trust me, I'm an Australia....(but living in America)

No. If it's for sexual reasons, then you already have a "vagina impersonator" a couple centimetres to the back. If you're just sick of seeing it hang there and decide to have it removed, you would have to still go on some type of HRT since your body needs hormones to function, whether it's estrogen or testosterone.

Jamie you're mean but funny too :). I can't even think about these things! I would like a reconstruction without the details (although at some point I was looking for diagrams on how SRS is performed).
I believe what I was looking for is a designer vagina. Have you got one of those?

Yes I think it would be a good thing to start on HRT anyways.
Thanks.

In Thailand they can perform a surgery in which they create a vulva without a vagina.
Though your wishes concern me and with my non-expertise, I'd tend to say you need to clarify your situation with a therapist.
Anyway, you will need to, because it's a requirement for surgery and hormones.

Sexuality can be an important part of people's lives.
Even lesbians who are mostly asexual go for full SRS so as not to burn their bridges.

Jamie: that's great, best of luck.
I am thinking of this because I want to have a sex change but I don't want to fall again in the gender binary. Is there a way to go only half way through a surgical transition?
The Thailand options seems good.

There is lot more possibilities
Penectomy and left just peeing hole
SRS with shallow or no vagina is also possible
and then is here lot of modification
