Undeniable progress made for trans equality (http://www.newyorkblade.com/2007/2-23/viewpoint/opinion/transglass.cfm)
IT BECOMES VERY easy, when writing about transgender issues, to fall into a "glass half empty" mindset. There is simply so much that one would like to see happen, and so much one has to continually deal with, that it becomes hard to find a moment to stop and smell the roses.
You want struggles with media representation, a lack of legal protection, or just good old-fashioned discrimination? You'll find stories every day covering each of the above. The struggle for rights lives up to its name, and we are always having to watch for the next big fight.
But it isn't all bad.
