Do you need to talk to your doctor about switching from bi-weekly to weekly if you were just going to split your dose? For example (using a random example) If you were on 1(blank) every two weeks and decided to do 1/2 (blank) every week would you need to ask the doctor first or does it not matter?
Then at the pharmacy do you have to have the doc re-write your dose on a new script or do you just tell the pharmacist that you are now splitting your dose so you need more syringes?

I work in a pharmacy and from what I've seen even though you would be getting the same dosage, often times when you receive a dose is important. So I would say that you should consult with your doc and if he/she is ok with it then he/she can write a new rx so that the pharmacy is also up to date. You can probably just leave a message with the medical assistant and shouldn't have to make an appointment or anything, and then they can call or fax your pharmacy with the new script =)
