I've been reading the Standards of Care, Version 7, just released by WPATH. I urge all trans people to download a version to your desktop and read it at your leisure.
I thought I would share a couple of things with you from the SOC 7 (in italics).
First, about the real-life experience, in which people planning to transition live in their preferred gender role for at least one year before having SRS. Note what they say about the social aspects of transitioning often being more challenging than the physical aspects. No doubt about it!
