I have mix emotions about trans marches. I find them to be valorous and wonderful for people who want to be known as trans or to have the world understand we are here.
However, I had a bad experience at one and I have no desire to attend another. Really do not want to go into detail of what I experienced as I am sure that would create a very intense discussion and take away from your thread.
But for the most part, I just don't advertise myself as a trans person out in the open. In a more intimate setting of a smaller crowd (such as Transgender Day of Remembrance at a church) I will disclose I am trans. But in the public I am simply a girl.
However, for anyone going to the trans march, have fun!!

Yet, you would be the first person to say that if someone had a bad experience with religion it should not reflect on ALL religions.

If you read my post you will also read I have no issues with the Trans parade with other people attending and expressed to others to have fun. Nor did I imply that all trans parades are bad...or even the one I attended. Stop trying to read into something that is not there. I mentioned that I had a bad experience at one. I never implied no one should go to a parade because of my experience.
I am allowed to have a bad experience and express it, and, at the same time, not judge others for attending the parade.
If you want to put into into the context of religion as you did then I would compare my experience at a particular church being a bad experience but i know others may gain something valuable from the same church I had a bad experience at. Furthermore, my bad experience with that particular church does not mean my opinion is the same across all other churches (i.e., other trans parades). That would be stereotyping. I would encourage others who attend that church to enjoy themselves.
But nice try at attempting to create discord or trying to bend my words around or to imply something other than what I stated by assuming. It hardly works out when someone tries to do that.

Then why bring it up? The person is asking for people to attend, not to give reason why they would not.

Because I have the right to bring up an experience I have had. And because I did not make this a case for all trans parades and just from my own personal experience, I did not make it appear that this happens to everyone.
You have voiced your opinion thousands of times here. What gives you the right or authority to state that I cannot?
