Title: Sharp pain in lower abdomen

I knew before I started testosterone that there was a price to pay, so to say. I have heard that your ovaries will dry up, or something along them lines..well the past two months I have been having severe pains, almost like cramps in my lower abdomen. I get these 'cramps' late Wednesdays and almost the whole day on Thursdays. I do my shot on Thursdays so I guess that would make sense. Could anyone possibly tell me what the pain is? I want a hysterectomy, but my insurance won't pay for it unless i'm 21+, and they said I didn't have a medical reason. I can't see my endocrinologist until January (its the earliest they can get me in).
Would anyone know anything about the pain i'm talking about? If it helps, i'm just over 8 months on T. Thanks.

This. If the pain is happening at the end of your shot cycle, there's a really good chance that it's a cyst or another gynecological problem. There's been studies to show that FTM's often still ovulate on T, however the blockage of estrogen and progesterone can apparently cause them to only partially function, so cysts are somewhat common when the follicles get blocked and don't release the eggs.
Typically cysts are just annoying and painful, they're not usually serious. If they get big enough they can be excruciating though. I was unfortunate enough to have a large one pre-T that ruptured, making me extremely ill with a high fever (103+), vomiting, and chills. If the pain is that frequent, and certainly if it's been getting worse, I recommend seeing a gynecologist soon. On the bright side, if you're getting multiple, frequent cysts, that would probably get you that hysterectomy sooner and covered by insurance.

Yeah it's definitely true that you can still ovulate on T, because I have been doing it for over a year now, even though that time of the month went away. However it turns out I have endometriosis, but I had severe pain prior to starting T as well, just got worse on T. If you're comfortable enough and the pain is bad enough you could always go to the hospital for an ultrasound (or schedule one with a family doctor if you got one), since that's not exactly invasive or anything and they could check for cysts that way.
Anyways, hope you feel better and get better, these things can suck. I know a lot of people who have had cysts, and I can see they are not exactly fun experiences, really sucks the things that can happen to our bodies.

Definitely see a doctor. My mom had a pretty bad ovarian cyst years ago and while it wasn't anything terribly serious, she was in a hell of a lot of pain.

A little TMI here, I think i'm going to start my period. I don't know how, but I wiped after I peed and there was brownish-red blood on the toilet paper. I usually got this before my period, well when I did get periods. I've been at the same dosage of T since January 27th, I know we arn't allowed to discuss dosages here, but I read that some guys on T get their period after awhile because the testosterone converts into estrogen. Seeing as how tomorrow is sunday, I have to wait till monday morning to call my endo...I assume this is why I have been getting those 'cramps'. What are the options of stopping my T from turning into estrogen?
thanks
thanks
