Title: Binder prevents me from keeping food down.

I'm just curious if anyone else has this issue. I use an Underworks 983 to bind my chest. It works pretty well for me, and rarely constricts my breathing (only times it has have been because of asthma and alcohol). I do have an issue with it though, as the title suggests. I don't know why, but when I have it on, I can't eat. I can't keep food down because it feels like it's pressing on my upper stomach. Does this happen to anyone else? How do I stop this from happening? Do I have to spend monies on a different binder? ;_; I don't mind eating from home, but it's nice to go out and eat every once in a while XP. Kinda hard to do that when my binder won't let me eat @_@.

Hmmm I had that issue with the 997. If it's pressing on your stomach could you try pulling it all the way down and then letting it roll up to just the bottom of your chest? That's how I wear mine after it gets a little loose. Might be kinda obvious through tight shirts though.

I guess I should've asked if your larger chested. Mine 983 never rolls up past the bottom of my chest because it's kinda large. It sorta settles in the spot above my stomach and below the beginning of... those things. It just occurred to me that might not work if your a small chested guy sorry.

i had a problem with not being able to eat (id be hungry but if i eat id get uncomfortable) when i had a long binder so i rolled it up so it was just on my chest and that helps i use a tri top now and have no problems.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's a horrible feeling, like you've eaten so much your stomach is going to explode, when really you've hardly eaten anything.
I get that a lot. Granted, I'm double-layering mine, but still...its not a pleasant feeling.
Does a 997 by itself work well enough for you? I've noticed that just wearing one of those, tucked into my boxers, makes it a lot easier to breath, eat, anything really. Problem is, I can only do that with certain hoodies, so I can't go out without being layered often.

Yeah I have the same problem. Not just that I can't eat when I'm binding, but it's also a lot harder to breathe. It's probably just because my binder(s) (sometimes I wear two, usually I only wear one though) are too tight. I've spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to get a decent binder that gets me flat but doesn't make me feel like I'm Darth Vader *insert clip of Darth Vader trying to breathe here* but they've all either been too big, or too small, or haven't gotten my chest flat at ALL (when I tried a sports-bra style binder, seriously, all it did was make it look like I was wearing a freakin' push-up bra! Insane!).

I used to have that problem with my 997. I'm pretty small chested, but cutting it shorter, basically in half so it just comes to the bottom of my ribcage helped a lot. I also had problems with it rolling up and cutting into my hips, so cutting it helped a lot with that also. I've had it over a year, and it started to fray or come unraveled at all.
I've also had the same problem as other guys have mentioned with my tri-top where it sticks out funny at the top. I ended up cutting that one too, just trimmed off the top stitching where it holds the layers together at the neckline, and it lays much flatter now.
