Title: Hormones (or lack of) and urine screens.

I moved in with my girlfriend recently so I'm looking for a job. Most of the places I'm considering will make me take a piss test before I can be hired. That's fine, I can pass it no problem. I'm just wondering if they'll notice the lack of testosterone in my urine. I'm only asking because I remember reading that testosterone is the reason why male urine has such a strong scent.
It's not a huge issue, I'll have to get a job no matter what. I'm just wondering if they're gonna test my urine and say 'huh...that doesn't make sense.' I don't want them to think I'm using someone else's urine, trying to pass the test that way. I also don't want to disclose that I'm trans.
Anyone ever had a problem with this type of thing?

Don't forget that natural fluctuations in a human body can influence whether one has low, normal or high levels of testosterone. Another thing to consider is how long you have been on hormones. It usually takes quite a bit of time for all the testosterone to leave your body or at least get to a female level. My guess is it shouldn't be an issue, although they may ask what medications you are one.
As for having drug testing done, I can give you my take on this as I have been on the employer end of this. Typically this is performed by another company and all they will test for whatever you pay them to test for (usually drugs only) and they will just tell you whether it was a positive or negative result. So if they do know you're on HRT, it's unlikely they would disclose it.

Looks like you got a little mixed up - this is the FTM forum. So I'm asking because I'm not on T yet.
But aside from that, you gave me the answer I needed. So thank you.

Either way, it's still a similar answer. :)

EmergeAndSeeExit...........
Don't sweat the pee test. They are only willing to pay for a street drug screen, the big 4. Now then, if you go for an NSA job, or something like that, maybe.......

It really depends on the test, and weather you claim to be male or female....
At my old place of work, they called me out durring training because my test came back in such a way they thought I was "cheating" on my test LoL... Obviously I had used a womans sample to swap out my own and therefore was going to be fired on the spot. I disclosed everything, it was embarasing but turned out to be helpful in the long run... now on this, I was just starting HRT for the first time and I was reading close to a pregnant woman (thats how they caught it) so *shrugs* they caught it but it wasnt a problem.

That's interesting Raily. The last time I had my levels checked it was 30 dollars to check T and 200 to check estorgen. I'm trying to think of what would happen during preganancy that would be easier to check. Progesterone levels, maybe?

I don't want them to think I'm using someone else's urine, trying to pass the test that way.
I can't see how anyone could do that even if they wanted to. Don't they give you a cup and accompany you to the bathroom? Then you do your business and give the cup back to the nurse?
Besides, all they are trying to test is drugs, not testosterone or estrogen levels. So don't worry about it, or like they say, don't make a storm in a glass of water. ;)
