Title: Today at the hospital...
Post by: Futura on October 28, 2011, 06:19:31 AM
I came for some blood tests (hormone levels) etc...

Suddenly I heard a question: "Can you tell me the day of your cycle?"

That caught me completely off guard. I just stood there like a fool saying nothing. I glanced behind me, the people were waiting. Ahh...

OMG I think I would be so embarrassed if something like that happened to me!

LOL! I remember going to my doctors office a year ago and the medical assistant was like, "when did you get your last period"? LOL! It caught me off guard as well. There was an awkward pause and then I replied, "I don't get periods".

Both those experiences are TOTALLY awesome. They'd have to admit me for uncontrollable laughter, if I was asked something like that.

That would make my year.

Last time my HRT meds were changed, I got the usual "go talk to the pharmacist about this drug" (androcur). I've been going to that pharmacy for years, but obviously she was new and not clued in, cause she explained the effects it might have on my cycle. This took a couple minutes. I managed a slightly strangled "okay" at the end of it.

If anyone asks you why, after you tell them you don't get periods, just tell them, "Congenitally absent uterus," and leave it at that.  No need to tell them why it was absent when you were born.
