i wanna know did  have any problems after colon vaginoplasty ? other than the odor which i think it can be solved .

please tell me  , and i think im gonna be extra sexually active with my bf and i hear that colon vaginoplasty is the best solution  for micro ones who have a sexual appetite XD

I had it done in Thailand. I was also on hormones for nearly 20 years prior.
1) The cleansing of the bowel is really nasty. I still shudder at the thought of that salt solution and the gallons of water.
I now have a 6" scar at the top of the bikini line. Sorta looks like a cesarian section  :)

What specificlly are you asking abouyt?

Zoi,
I don't know about colon-section as done by Thai surgeons, but have some pretty intimate knowledge of our local SA GRS unit's efforts (a 3 stage op, with 'colo' being the 2nd big op).

1) it is VERY invasive compared to inversion, even when grafting from thigh or tummy area.

2) All girls I know seem to have some issue with a tummy bulge, maybe Juiemac can give her comment here?
Some very skinny older tg and one pretty young one also, have tummy bulge like being pregnant... the older one looks like 6 –7 month pregnant, the younger one, 3 – 4 month like.

3) You mentioned the smell, and yes, that is an issue and it may take some more or less long time to stop. It's NOT PLEASANT, not at all.

4) Drinking a 1/2 gallon+ of cleansing solution IS nasty, I watched it - but it's only one-off at least! :-)

5) Despite what some (even surgeons) may say YOU WILL NEED TO DILATE to stay open!
Depth and lubrication - though often too much rather then too little - is the plus side, with 6" no issue or even more depth (depending on pelvic build I'd assume)

6) 5 month post op with out dilating in the two cases I know, have reduced entry to less then allowing little finger to pass!! I actually seem it (gynaecological).

7) I myself had inversion with the 'standard' scrotal skin graft (3rd op in 1 week at PIH) and now have a little under 5" depth, depending how one measures AND the positioning one's pelvis.

8) If your partner is long > 5 ½", and never mind big in girth, it then may be the way to go...

9) Our local surgeons proclaim it is either inversion - or colon-section, this to my knowing from PIH is NOT true.
Dr. Sanguan does secondary colon-section if inversion lost too much depth over time, say is down to 3 1/2" and intercourse becomes difficult, painful or what ever.

My two cents, and YMMV

omg more to fear  a tummy bulge :(  ,  damn now i dont know what to choose  chettawut promised me depth using a scrotal skin graft and if not enough a skin graft   , and mt best friend she told my to go for colon cause she had a skin graft now she barely have 2 inches depth .

Julie  : i guess my str8 forward question would be did u have any post op problems and or everything is going great after ? who was ur Doctor ?  i was planning for preecha , chettawut  , or saran    and they all said i can have colon  or a skin graft cause i have no skin .

It be interesting for me also, if Julie would comment on the tummy swelling/bulge issue.

One tg I know told me ALL the girls that had colon-section do have this in some way or another - I personally have not seen them.

As for the tummy scar, I have seen that, have even a picture.
It is about ~ 30cm = ~ 14" long, hip bone to hip bone i.e. horizontal.
IF one chooses the vertical incision, then about 7" are what I'm told by the other person.
It WILL be much bigger then a hysterectomy scar (horizontal mostly) i.e. more like a C-section scar.

The issue with tummy bulge was also brought up with an older woman I met in Phuket (from New Zealand). She was told her doctors: it's due to internal organ displacement, though she had her op some 20+ years back.

Lastly, and not knowing the exact Thai surgeon processes for colo, the sigmoid colon (used for the graft) is stapled together when reconnecting the colon after the graft was taken.

I'm just wondering if the remaining staples, they stay in there forever (acc. to Prof. Lindeque, head of SA GRS team) have something to do with the tummy swelling?
The swelling is most apparent from right after the operation, as I saw it.

does your doc wanna do the colon?  I had a smaller than micro "thing" and got a little more than 6" depth with the vaginplasty and scrotal skin graft......didnt need any other donor tissue

Honey, he will say just that if he be honest.

In fairness he would even say so if you had inversion, at least for more than a month..., neither be YOU interested to having him NEAR there for more than a month, um.
That's a promise.

It's not just the discharge it is the SMELL of sloughing skin with inversion, as clean as you will be able to keep things, there will be an odd smell.

It's not putrid or any of that, more the smell of a newly healing earring hole mixed with?...? it is a new smell to me, and NOT in the beginning like a normal clean bio-vj... I'm sure you can relate.

'Colo' with DEFINATELY take longer to clear up 6 month to 3 years is the known range to me.
And the SMELL be also stronger, I have experienced it.
Not pleasant at all... sorry to say.

:D damn girls who r going to read all that will get scared to death

i think ill go with chettawut  since he said his last option would be a colon  he told me i can get decent depth having a scrotal skin graft if not enough any donor skin will do   and will keep the scary show as  a last option .

I support your decision, though don't know of the other posters.

If you feel OK with Chettawut, that sounds fine, he has a good reputation.

I only know Dr. Sanguan's (PIH) protocol, also using scrotal skin graft, I have it, all that see him have it and it is just fine.

6" depth... well, I'm struggling to maintain just 5" and started 5 1/2" just post-op for about 3 days.
It has to do with one's pelvic build I'm quite sure. So if some person is very tall, they'd have mostly a bigger pelvis also. This may influence depth.

At 4 3/4" I hit the pelvic bone, at least with those straight dilators I got.
There seem more depth available if being able to go more upward (toward the navel) but that is tricky as one needs to negotiate around the pubic bone.

Lastly, there are some dilators on the market that have a 1" - 1 1/2" upward bend tip, which might help with depth maintenance.

Best of luck,
Axelle

I have an incision just above my pubic hair, the sigmoid colon is an "S" shaped segment of the colon that is cut abot 7" long.
The colon is then reattached where this section was removed.
The segment cut is then snaked through the small bowel and sutured to the inverted reamins of the penile skin. the top is pursed and then the opening closed. It is done this way so that the existing blood vessels deliver and return blood properly. If the cut is short and the arteries and veins are short, the part is a loss.

My doctor, Dr. Pichot, well the skin is attached now to the underlying muscles which I really dont like...
Yes I do have a bit of a tummy now, but some of that is the fat that built up AFTER surgery.

As for the discharge? I wore pads every day, changing 2-3 times a day for 9 months. Thats several years worth of periods...
The discharge does build up and I douche once a week with fresh water.

Avoid this type of surgery if you can. If the penile inversion fails, you have a fall back to this. Direct to this and have a failure? Nothing.

Thanks Julie,
really much obliged for your openness and sharing.

Note: into the second month post-op now, I need 3 - 4 pads a day following every dilating session and then some... so much for catching up on periods, you telling me :-)

Thanks again hon,
Axelle

i had colon vaginoplasty with dr sanguan kunaporn in thailand about 10 years ago.

he messed it up. he used about 8" of ascending colon (which screwed my digestive system) which then stretched and tied itself in knots. sex was impossible due to him not using a zigzag join (so there was a ring of unstretchable scar tissue) i ended up with foul discharges and needed surgical correction (which i got in NZ - where they are very good at the same surgery).

healing was really hard work, getting over having my stomach muscles cut through took a couple of years.

since the corrective surgery i've not had a lot of sex, but what i have had has been great. i get a bit more fluid discharge after for a few days.

occasionally i get a bit of slimy discharge, but it doesn't smell bad.

so... maybe its good, maybe its not so good. hard call. if i had had it done in NZ in the first place, it would probably have been fine. the scar is pretty awesome, but in NZ they use keyhole surgery so you don't get that.

I had UK style colovag in London January 2011 and am now 10 months along.
I have the big c section scar and had the tummy bulge but diet and sucking it in flattened it to a nicer tummy shape.
I look perfcetly acceptable and as good as most other women swimmers at the pool in my cerise swimsuit.
The entrance is still very sore as I think the mucus is actually an irritant on outside skin.
There is no nice feelings on penetration as the colon does not have nerves unlike the usual inverted penis skin.
Its discharge varies from little dampness to messy yellow dollops.  I think this messy stage may be due to the muscles keeping it locked so tight that it can't clean itself.
The smell varies from non to quite noticeable in synch with the discharge rate.
The smell is borderline iffy/nice but dunno how it or the pheromones will appeal to any males who might get close to it.
Depth is still a good 6.5 inches with small dilator, 6 with medium but only 5.5 with larger.  These rigid acrylic dilators are wrong shape basically as they don't bend around the pubic bone.  I think I had a small opening and the surgeons maybe should try cutting away perhaps half and inch of the top to make a bigger straighter hole.
With softer jelly vibrators I get easier entry and 6 inches depth.
My vagina is locked up tight on waking and most of the day but relaxes towrds evening and when I show it some lube it just softens and relaxes nicely.
Shame we can't have the penile inversion as that makes  a much nicer job.

Amazing to read your comments. Read one line: yup agree there.
Read the next and Yup again.

Due to the large amount of erectile tissue, penetration is a bit uncomfortable at times and hope (one day) to have it reduced.

Please avoid colovaginoplasty at all costs unless your initial SRS failed.

Girls get a tight ring of scar tissue in the entry. The entry where the bowel segment and genital skin join almost never heals.
(causes extra tightness, the scar tissue can tear easily with sex and cause bleeding, needs a lot of stretching/dilation)

It also makes you produce too much lube, it smells not so pleasant.

The graft can give you abdominal aches and IBS down the track.

Your tolerance to certain foods change as well.

There is a reason why doctors have moved away from older techniques and perform new methods like non inversion.

They see the problems with the older methods and they update the techniques every 5 years.

I had a colon vaginoplasty 16 years ago with Dr Walker in Christchurch, New Zealand.

While I don't believe it's as bad as people say in previous posts, it does have it's cons.  It also has its pros.

Some have mentioned a stomach resembling a pregnant women.  I haven't had that as such, apart from putting on lots of weight, which is now coming off.  But until I started to put on weight at ~ 6 years post op showed no signs of being pregnant  :D

Pros:
great depth
natural lubrication
only a small scar below the belly button (from keyhole surgery, that now is barely visible)

cons:
scar tissue at vaginal entry
stomach ache a day or so before some discharge, with an accompanying smell (but not always)

I've never had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or noticed any change in tolerance to foods.

No doubt procedures have changed in 16 years, but if I had the chance to do it again, I'd probably have had an inversion.  But but in 96/97 there wasn't a lot of info around.

Kia Ora,

I also went under the scalpels[back in 2005] of Peter walker's team of surgeons "Walker=Plastic surgeon-Perry-=Colon surgeon-Mark =Urologist ...I can't complain about my colonvaginoplasy surgery...However a close friend did have major problems after her surgery...

The way I see it is ... Surgeons are all 'humans' and humans are prone to off days, one can't state with certainty that having surgery done by so and so surgeon, is guaranteed to produce the best results...

So, I am in the process of getting my SRS with dr. Sinclaire in Beverly Hills and I opted to go the colorectal sigmoid route. I know it smells. I have seen my friend's vagina and it smelt even after 10 years. But, it is what it is. It's either that or my "thing". I take the smelly vagina. lol.
I promise that I'll come back and let you guys know how it is when I have done it myself.

Discharge also happens with a penile inversion, I had to wear several pads a day for almost one year after the surgery. I promise you, it was never smelling like flowers. :)

After that year though, it stopped randomly some day and I have never experienced any discharge after that.

How is it for the secondary colon vaginoplasty? Is discharge gonna be something that will be happening for the rest of your life?

I hated going through the discharge stage. I basically could never go without wearing a pad, which I replaced pretty much every time I went to the bathroom.

I have contacted Chettawut asking if he could get me more depth, he told me secondary colon vaginoplasty would be the only option and that would cost around 556,000 THB (that's 16,661.65 USD / 14,264.62 Euros)

Peritoneal Vaginoplasty sounds like it is perfect for you.  From what I have read, it has great results -- especially with the micropenis scenario.

This is the surgery Jazz Jennings went with and she had the same problem you have.

So, I am back and I have already had my vaginoplasty. I haven't had any odor down there so far. But, what I have is discharge, and scar tissue at the entry to my vagina. I also have 9 inches of depth or at least that how long my dilator is and it goes in all the way. The doctor said the entry scar tissue will heal, I guess we have to wait and see. It's only been 6 weeks.

I am glad to hear you are back and everything well.I had my colovaginoplasty as an "upgrade" in 1984 and l loved it from day one. It healed much faster than my original SRS,  (penile inversion), in '72/73 and works much better. I have not dilated since. I still get the occasional discharge, but usually only after some vigorous snd pleasurabe penetrative sex.😊😃😄😄😄😇

Hi Dreamgirl,
I had PI but I just wanted to share that the benchmark for CV seems to be Doctors Burin and Sutin at the Preecha Instititute in Bangkok. Good luck!
