As we all know, injecting loose silicone into your body is illegal. Even so, many girls take the risk and get it done to enhance different parts of their bodies. I know of a few people who've been injected and they look amazing. But others have had complications from it including death.
A few years ago I was really thinking about getting it done. But I've seen/read a lot of horror stories which have made me decide not to. I mean, it isn't approved by the FDA for a reason. And even if you turn out ok and get the shape you're looking for, what about the long-term effects? I think that's what many girls don't think about. Over time the silicone will move around, gravitate, and end up at your ankles. It can give you discoloration, cause an immense amount of pain, and it's practically impossible to remove it all if you want to. Many have been left disfigured.
Then there's the issue of whether they are injecting medical grade silicone or industrial silicone. To me, it doesn't really make a difference. Either way, it's illegal and very risky. Some do it because they just want a lil more curves, others because it's cheaper than surgery, and a few because they're going for the cartoon effect.
Before you do it, think about it not once, not twice, but three times. There will be no going back.

I can't believe nobody has anything to add or say about this. Or did I say it all? Lol.

i think the lack of response is because pretty much everyone agrees with your statement. I wouldn't get silicone injections even if someone put a gun to my head (well...i would probably think about it if someone put a gun to my head lol)
If you wanna bring up a good discussion bring up the pitfalls of voice surgery. I've seen girls whose voices are permanently screwed up. I'm sure that will bring a lot of conversation.

I didn't even know there was a thing such as voice surgery. What does it entail?

I think you're right.

Or maybe I should make a thread on how some MTF's act like gay men. What'd you think? >:-)

they go into your throat and tighten up your chords.
Out of the three girls I know, all three of them had very poor results. They sound worse than before the surgery. One of them has sadly been incredibly suicidal from the results of her surgery.
Andrea James, who created the website TS roadmap personally knows of 14 girls who had it done. Out of those 14 girls, only 2 of them were satisfied with the results.
Then, if you get VERY lucky where your voice does not sound like Minnie Mouse, Marge Simpson, or a woman who has been smoking for 70 years, you still have to practice your intonation and reflection...which are SEVERELY more important than pitch because surgery does not fix resonance and intonation.
So you'll end up spending thousands of dollars on a VERY big gamble only to have to practice your voice like everyone else does.

Even American Surgeons who do the surgery does not recommend it:
Many patients contact our office looking for an option to improve the quality of their voice. Voice surgery can offer patients a solution to achieve a higher pitched, more feminine voice. However, in most cases, Dr. Spiegel does not recommend the surgery. Dr. Jamie Kaufmann, a renowned laryngologist and alumni of Boston University School of Medicine, recommends against the surgery and she knows best. While these surgeries can offer patients a quick and successful result; overall, the surgery can be risky and the results have been inconsistent at best.

Silicone smells like vinigar. Yuk.
Use it for plumbing not plumping.

I work on avionics and we use high end silicones and epoxies all the time. All of these chemicals have a big "Not for human injection" warning on them. We always get a kick out of that. On a side note, all of these chemicals are known as spooge, as in "Which spooge are we using on the air data modules?"

Interesting. What's even the reason for Silicone injections, is it something like fat injections?

When I frequented the ballroom scene in Philly, it was always either used to make the butt bigger or as an alternative to FFS in getting more prominent cheekbones. Like Jen said, provided the shady basement procedure itself doesn't go horribly wrong, it looks really good for a while but there's nothing holding the stuff in place, so eventually you'll probably wind up looking deformed.
I also know of someone who died because the person doing the injection accidentally hit a vein and the silicone went to her heart.

Wow.. I've never heard about that. Nonetheless hope people become more educated and stop doing silly things.

From what I've read about it, it is something that mostly happens in street culture. I've heard that there are silicone "pumpers" in the Amsterdam red light district too, but I've never heard anyone on an online forum speak about getting it.

All I can say about getting pumped is just EW! Granted, I know like two girls out of a bunch that I would have never guessed got silicone injections, but the rest just look awful and have that "fish face" ( And let us not forget that bubble butt! )look to them. It's so incredibly dangerous! Someone else I knew almost died from having her breasts pumped and the silicone ended up migrating into her lungs! It is so scary and just not worth the risks in my opinion. :(
