I, literally, cry inside when I see derogatory and insulting comments be made about trans people.

There is an immense amount of fear inside me to just go out and be myself. It doesn't stop me, but I get paralyzed with fear from time to time, to the point where I literally hide in a bush and almost cry. I live in a rough area, which far from helps my situation.

Do you ever get this?

I don't get it, really...

We are all, at a microscopic biologically level, exactly the same a cis-females and cis-males, and yet, they hate on us. We breathe oxygen, obey the laws of physics and function exactly the same, and yet, they hate on us. We want to be loved and have families, just like they do and yet, they hate on us.

All I want for Christmas is for everyone to spread the love....or even just give us a chance to live the life we deserve. I'd even give up all my Christmas presents forever just for this. :( Why live in actual fear for our lives, just because we were born a little different? *literally watering eyes right now*

I don't know what else to say...it confuses me that beings of the same species can just hate on each other like this. We should band together and love each and every one, because uniqueness is what makes this world beautiful.

I would give up my gifts a hundred trillion times to see trans people loved. I don't understand the hate either; it makes no sense to me...

I'm sorry you feel this way, and I truly wish you didn't. The manifesto of our daily implications will play on society in a positive way..eventually. But until then we will have to prove ourselves even more than others. Just remember to continue to spread love, and help other people learn about us. The human race has been breed to fear "different" things. As it was apart of survival way back when..  nonetheless remember to keep your head held high. :)

Eventually, we will be accepted. You have a good point there, Ava. I didn't think of it like that...I was having some insecure moments and insecure thoughts, and needed to get it out. :)

First  hate and prejudge are learned !  children are honest in that way (if the dint see to much tv )
The giggle and laugh but give straight answers , and after a talk the wil never giggle again if p.a. the see a guy in a dress. you self go wrong here (i know you dint mean it this way ) with the words : Spreading the love, to all of the beautiful trans people around the world. :  it read only to beautiful trans people :  and the rest of us ? the black ducks ? We are so programmed from kid on that we believe it ourself .

I rarely make it known, anything about myself. I'm not particularly frightened of being attacked, but more for attracting unwanted attention.

I particularly hate the notion that, any gay will do. That gay people want to have sex with anyone and everything. That it's about, even to a small extent, sex.

I have noticed that, for many, sex is on their minds, most of the time. They seem to be continually looking for opportunities. This regardless of their apparent gender. If we assume that these people make up a sizable minority, are these sexually motivated people making things difficult for everyone?

This isn't the perfect example I can find, but it had to do with human traits. I think the article was on CNN? Anyways it was explaining why their has always been a form of prejudice against differential groups of the persons "norm."

I think there is some cultural difference in perceiving transgender people. I lived in the middle estern coast of the US for 11 years. Some people actually hated me, and most of them were Judo-Christians.

In my country, people do not like my crossdressing, but they do not hate me, regardless of their religion. Some people even support and defend me. And everybody says like "I can understand and accept you, but I just worry that other people would not understand you well like me." Yes. People here believe that they themselves are open-minded and liberal people, but that other people are very conservative.

people hate what they fear, they fear what they are taught to, and they are taught by who? one guess but i give you a hint, most fear and hate is hereditary.. :(

I shed tears about the hatred directed toward us too: tears of rage. I don't get sad or confused, I get angry. This isn't psychologically healthy for me, but it's true that my default response to this sort of victimization is to rage at the offender. This spurs hatred in myself toward people such as ultra-Conservative Christians, who are (let's face it) the archetypical example of those who enjoy tormenting us. And I do believe that quite a large number of them actually enjoy making us suffer. Radical feminists who argue that I'm a man in a dress drive me into a fury also, especially since I advocate so strongly for their right to be as they are. I feel betrayed by them.

Am I really the only person battling with rage against our oppressors here? I'm not talking the destructive kind of anger, but I'm sure angry enough to be deeply politically involved and to pursue a more egalitarian society through democratic reformation.

Just wanted to clear up that when I said "beautiful trans people", it was not in the sense of outer beauty, per se, but people just being beautiful.

Religious people get me to me the most. We are all creatures of God, and God "loves us all" as I've heard many people say. So, if God loves us and created us like this, what gives them the right to hate on such a beautiful creation?

I mean no offense and am not trying to bring up bad memories of the past or start a fight, I just needed to vent.

Oh, according to them we're not creations of God. We're creations of Satan, and that makes it okay to hate us. You, me, everyone on this forum is the product of original sin. This reminds me of the time when my aunt came out to my family as transgender. They went from seeing her as their brother, uncle, cousin, son- to a hated stranger. They firmly believe that she is just gay and still use her male name when they refer to her. I believe there is a preference in the world, and that is to be white, straight and christian- anything else is just not acceptable. Hatred is never justified for any reason, especially for something that cannot be controlled such as orientation or ethnicity. Ive had my share of looks, - my family is italian and spanish so i have dark features, olive skin, dark hair and eyes and just for that reason some people believe they have a right to judge me and hate me. I believe people hate other's to make themselves feel better- as if they have a more perfect life, nicer skin color, or that they r "normal" and everybody else not like them is below them. Pathetic yes, but its true.

just to wiegh in here i found something somewhat intersting. whenever i see a headline about a ts person i always try vto read the article cuz i wanna see wut kind of comments are being made. for instance , chaz bono, when he got kicked off dwts. the commenst were so cruel and inhumane i was shocked appalled. I expected it to be somewut bad, but it was sooooo worse than i thought. 99% of the comments were very very mean. to make things worse, all the supportive comments had gotten so maany dislikes that yahoo had hid the comments, so it was literally nothing but a wall of hatred.
         on the same site a few days later i found an article about a mtf that halted puberty and started hormones at 18 and was very beautiful. there all the comments were very supportive. one said " cuz of my religous beleifs, usually i condemn this type of behavior, but i think in this case she really was a girl inside a boy's body. these were the same buttheads that had verbally assaulted chaz just a few days earlier. i think its cuz of how they both look. that just shows you how shallow people are. if your butt ugly as your perceived gender its an abomination of god, but if you pass then you get accepted. lol what is wrong with people ?

The truth is that if you want to test the waters of public opinion, internet comment forums are the last place you look for an objective dataset. Often people will take advantage of the anonymity of the internet to say stupid, illogical, incisive things just for the express purpose of making other people angry. And when you ask them why they do this, the answer is even more horrendous: they think it's fun.

The number of rational, good-hearted people who write in comments forums is greatly eclipsed by the number of idiots just out to annoy for their own amusement. God help you if you want to have an intellectual conversation in the comments of a YouTube video.

In sum, ignore the hate which is spewed in comments forums, be it against transsexuals or anyone else. The people leaving incisive comments are mostly attention-seekers. Hell, they may even be playing devil's advocate with you and just never own up to it to keep you mad.

I know for me the fear of passing kept me in the closet for a long time, much too long for anyone. I probably missed out on the opportune window to transition, which makes me feel idiotic in hindsight.

Although to be honest, passing is the thing which causes me the most anxiety by far.  :(
