Title: Hi i'm Vicky
Post by: Vicky Thomas on November 09, 2011, 03:40:12 PM
Hi everyone, I'm Vicky. I'm new to this forum thing.... i have looked at these sorts of sites before but never registered with one before this one ! I am 29 now, I have known i was transgendered as long as i can remember but never told anyone how i felt. So for the past 20 odd years i have kept it secret thinking there was something wrong with me ! I mean i could never tell anyone as i grew up on a council estate and so had to act manly to save face. I am a man... of sorts ! (5'9", small and thin'ish) lol but inside i have always felt as if i should be a girl. I grew up with 3 sisters and no brothers, my dad left when i was 12 and later died when i was 19. I am too in touch with my feminine side my friends tell me, people always say i should have been a girl, even my mum ! I went to see my GP about starting the treatment last year, she referred me to a psychiatrist, but i bottled the appointment due to having no support or any one to talk to about the whole ordeal ! I am making another appointment with her tomorrow to re-refer me  :)
Well if any one would like to know anything just ask, i have alot to share  ;)

Welcome Vicky :)

There is nothing wrong with you.  I think we all have felt that way until we finally accept who we are.

Hugs
Zaria

I cant think of any way to actualy meet people like me in person here !?!? I am defo going to go ahead with the transition from 2moz... cant live this lie anymore..... I cant wait for the therapist to say YES this is a viable option for me, then i can tell everyone what is going on ! Will keep it a secret for a while longer though untill i get the thumbs up, not too long i hope.

Hi Vicky, it's nice to meet you! I saw a bit of myself in your intro. You see, I'm 29, and I have been 29 for the last twenty years. OK, I'm a liar, I'm 49. See you around, hugs, Tracey

Hi Vicky

I am sorry to hear that you have no people like you to chat to about stuff.  It makes a lot of difference.
I am up in Lancashire and meet different trans friends every week at various places for coffee and support.
It makes such a difference, although you do tend to consume a lot of caffeine. haha.
Where about are you in our fair land?

Debbie

Hi Vicky  :)

It can be hard to get a support network at first (especially one that includes family if they're not particularly accepting) but I'm sure you will find acceptance and support and warmth here on the forums if anything. Make sure to keep us all updated! Everyone is quite lovely here.

I wish you all the best with your journey.  :)

Well Vicky

There is no need to wait for all those things to meet with other.  You just have to take the usual precautions as anybody would.  We don't use passports and stuff up here (well not yet anyway..haha). We are near Manchester.
We vary in 'state' from not even on HRT yet, to taking HRT, to getting appointments, to living post-op.  A very mixed bunch without any judgement.  I am HRT only so far.  Quite often, people who are trying to start and the ones who enjoy meets and 'unloading' best.
Anyway, it's you call.  Message if you want to.
Bye for now.

Debbie

HAHA  Don't worry.

We put our cards on the table and people can either look at them, or pick them in their own time or never.
Take care

Debbie.
