How long after your first initial visit with your therapist did you get that same therapist to write your letter for hormones?
I sure hope I got the < and > symbols right, lol.

For "greater than 12", replace the "12<" with ">12".
Anyway it took 2 weeks (a total of 2 sessions, each an hour long).

Thank you. wow, that's soon, that's awesome :)
Why do you think you were able to get it so soon?
also, now I accidentally reset the poll results :P so if you wouldn't mind voting again... lol.

Haha alright I'll vote again.
It said on the therapist's website that she required at least 2 sessions and what would be involved in them: the first = talking about childhood and then filling out a gender-based questionnaire, the second = talking about present issues and filling out another questionnaire. It said that in most cases, this is all that's required for a thorough assessment.
So I just made it clear that I was there for hormone readiness assessment and not therapy or counselling.
She charged $200 an hour, though.

It took me...about 5 years to get my letter. I started (gender-related) therapy at 15 and finally got my letter at 20. Mostly this was due to my age and family issues (my mom didn't want me starting T yet). But when I finally was able to ask for a letter, I got it as soon as it was written (roughly 1 week).

I went to therapy about trans stuff many years ago. I was there for 3 months, felt like it was going nowhere and quit. I looked for other options and eventually went to a place that uses informed consent.

We wrote my letter about 2 months after I started therapy --- but she said on my second visit -- she would write the letter whenever I was ready

Oh, I'm glad it's working for some people then. I specifically checked the option to allow people to see the results without voting, but for some reason I don't see that button on my side, and I couldn't see the results without voting, so I had to add in the last option.

I just clicked View Results. My timing isn't cleanly measurable. I'd been seeing a therapist, and then I came out to her as trans, and she was supportive, and for a year we just worked that into the discussions that were already happening. So when I called and asked for a letter, she was really happy for me.
