Title: The ultimate passing challenge
Post by: Eve of chaos on November 17, 2011, 02:12:10 AM
now maybe I'm just masochistic but here's a way to test your pass ability in pictures. that is fun for someone like me...but I doubt anyone else will agree haha.

step 1. go to 4chan.org/soc/
step 2.  create a rate me thread anonymously with your best picture of yourself
step 3. refresh the page and watch as you get rated. if you make it through with no one saying "trap" then you pass.

if anyone is familiar with 4chan then you know how unrelentingly mean the users can be. be warned.

I got two replies on my picture
"not sure if trap, or just ugly!"
and "6.5/10"

lol so half win :p
I'd rather be ugly and pass.

Haha oh dear that is potentially a mighty cruel game.
Sounds fun though :P

I'm sure tempted

heh the threads all 404 after awhile thankfully. so unless anyone saves your pic it wont be there forever.
it is disturbingly fun though. I can see myself taking pictures with the sole purpose of trying to pass on /soc/

I never went beyond /x/ in 4 chan. Most of the time people think I look like a 8 year old boy, when I'm online. So, at least it is passing. Maybe I'll do this tonight. I'm sure I'll get a lot of "Get off your parent's computer!"

Eve of Chaos

Getting judged for being pretty isn't the best way to go about whether or not you pass.   Especially online.   People call women ->-bleeped-<-s all the time when they have a bit of masculine features.

There's also a phrase you might not know "Butterface"  which is a girl with a banging body who has an unattractive face.   So everything looks great "but her face"

I think you have a face like Maggie Gyllenhaal.  She's considered a "butterface"  and think of  Tori Spelling.   I've actually seen Tori Spelling in person and she's absolutely gorgeous,  I was shocked because in pictures she has this big horsey face.  I feel bad for her in her pictures.

Online pictures can look really good but the person in person can come across very unattractive.   So I'd stop worrying so much.

I do agree with someone who posted about you having orange hair.  People might be looking because you have orange hair and it looks like you want to be looked at.

So then don't be surprised when people look.

To me you look like a typical little Brooklyn chick from an Italian family.

I'm not as concerned about how attractive i am. Thats what I pretend I'm posting about on there but I'm really looking to see if anyone screams "thats a man!"

I just want passing advice from people who dont know I'm trans. and a way I can trust their honesty.

and when someone says "I dont rate guys" I'm pretty sure that just really means I'm not passing at all.

beauty is opinion so I dont care how many people think I'm ugly, someone is bound to find me attractive. as they say its in the eye of the beholder.

I am probably a little too worried if I pass or not. its sort of an obsession. But it's pretty important to me to know for sure.

You're really hooked up on passing, aren't ya? I understand because for me it's important as well. But the real "passing challenge" would be to walk down the street and see how people react to you. Even if you don't look like a ->-bleeped-<-, there are people online who are just mean and will post ignorant comments. Plus, if you're posting your "best" picture, do you really feel the rating is valid?

I think you pass.   But even though you say people put "I don't rate guys"  I think you are wrong to take it as a statement that you are not passing.  That's what I'm trying to tell you.   ->-bleeped-<- guys will say that about women to be jerks,  not as a statement of honesty.

"->-bleeped-<-" is an insult thrown around at cisgendered women with strong features.

Cher has been called a ->-bleeped-<-,  so have Kristin Stewart,  Hilary Swank,  Uma Thurman,  Sarah Jessica Parker,  Rumor Willis etc etc etc.    It's not a statement that really really means that people think you are truly a transsexual.   So I'm just saying I think you are going to get responses like that no matter what.   You have strong features.

I get it too, and I'm cisgender.  So you just can't avoid it and you do pass.   I sure hope I pass.
