As police investigate the shooting death of one transgender person Thursday night and shots fired at another soon afterward, West Hollywood is preparing to observe the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance with a march Sunday.
The West Hollywood march starts at 1:30 p.m. at Plummer Park at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard, and ends at Matthew Shepard Triangle at Santa Monica and Crescent Heights boulevards, where a program with a reading of names is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Authorities have not labeled the recent shootings hate crimes but have said they believe the same person was responsible for shooting to death a transgender woman in Hollywood and shooting at another in West Hollywood on Thursday night.
