So, girls, I have been here around for a while... I am wondering how open minded this forum is because so far I have not seen any threads or topics about sex itself. You know, the whole topic about sex. :)

It seems like we are tiptoeing around it, rather instead, discussing other isssues that we face in our daily lives and questions that we have regarding society, transitioning, etc.

I am not talking about linking to porn pics or discuss depraved sexual acts.... but, rather, our sex lives, how we are coping, masturbation, whether we like anal sex or not, etc.

Can we discuss such topics here or it s not considered polite? Let me know so I know where to cross the line or not. After all, I am new here. "a friend" according to my avatar status, heh

I'm open minded, but don't care about sex myself, whether its having it or talking about it, lol.  I'm happy being a prude:-)

I think the main reason there are no sex topics here is because they would be off-topic.  That sort of seals the deal for why there are no sex topics in the MtF forum.

I dunno if it's the same for the girls (apparently not?), but it seems to come up quite regularly in coversation over in the guy's section. :)

Nothing wrong in talking about sex and sexuality. There is a sexuality forum so we place the topics there. The only restrictions are on porn, obscenity or titillation and we don't host orgy or hook ups.

The reason we have a separate section is that they are accessible to members only so we get rid of the pervs, as much as we can. As far as I know there is no staff on this place who is in the least 'prudish', we just enforce Susan's rules which are in the announcement section.

I'm never offended by anything sexual. I'm more likely to be amused than anything. There was a thread in the sexuality forum about masturbating with the butter from movie theaters that was pretty hilarious.

Ugh, thats something i dont wanna think about for a while lol. I can wait till SRS lol, if i can avoid any more sexual experiences like the ones i had in guy-mode its totally worth it lol.

Well i say that but if i find the right guy or girl it would bare discussing but i REALLY dont like my current equipment, just knowing i still have it is a massive turn-off for me. I know we are all different but i can definately wait for now, its was like early 2009 iirc the last time i "did it" lol another couple of years wont kill me. Who knows maybe once im on HRT i will feel differently about it..............

There have been "sexual" discussions many times.  We insist they stay within the Sexuality Section.  We also will monitor how graphic they get.  I think we are open minded.  I know that I for one have not been celebate before or after my transition.

All's exactly the same for me, minus one little detail ... it hasn't been quite as long as since 2009 :P
I don't really mind talking about it though ... as long as I don't have to talk about my own "equipment". It makes me quite uncomfortable. :)

But a cuddle and a kiss sounds so awesome right now. I likely won't be getting any of that anytime soon either though. sigh.

Out of the few who are, how likely is it that they would want to talk about these topics around women who are very much traumatised because of their bodies?

Sex is a complicated minefield for most of us.

Since you mentioned sex in reference to being open minded...

Many here are from the US.  The US has some pretty strong Puritan and Victorian beliefs in its history, a lot of which is still here today, we just don't openly admit it.  Unlike some other countries, we are taught sex is shameful, embarrassing, wrong, evil, of the Devil, un-God-like and a host of other negative messages one hears growing up in this country.

But we all are human and everyone knows no matter what messages you send, people are still going to have sex.  So we allow for it between one man and one woman, in the bedroom, behind closed doors and only after they are married.  That's okay.  No one will give you crap about that.  Just make sure you don't talk about it!  And don't ever tell anyone you're doin' it every day.  People won't like you.  But if it produces children, you are blessed!  After all, that's why God created sex, right?

So whatever lack of open-mindedness you perceive on this forum is most likely because it's so prevalent in this country.  And we are the United States of America and we are used to getting our way.

Now let's put all this talk about sex back where it belongs, in the bedroom, behind closed doors...

I'm totally fine with other people talking about it, but it's not really something I can talk about myself. I have extremely limited experience anyway. I was a virgin till 24, I've only had one intimate partner, and I have zero interest in having sex again till after my surgery. What is there to talk about?

Actually my sex life with my partner is fine and dandy.

It is however a potential mine field with both partners sufering from some degree of physical dysphoria...

Ditto this.  I think even the age part is the same, but I might have been 23.  Either way, I have zero interest in it before GRS unless I happen to find the right person - and even then, I'd rather cuddle or do things not involving certain parts.

Even as the hormones have sort of dwindled my sex drive on a biological level, on the flip of the same coin... I feel it going up mentally... because I am growing happier with myself and getting real breasts have enchanced my perception of my sexiness...

I feel the same way as Amy and Sarah. If people want to talk about "odd" sexual things, I don't care; however, I reserve the right to make jokes (and to blush).

I think you really have to talk to the right people here for the forum to seem open-minded. *shrug*
