More than one person has mentioned to me recently that Quebec's rules about changing one's name and gender identity are too strict. It is usually a simple process once a person has had sexual reassignnment surgery. But if you want to change your name from, say, Jack to Jill before you have had SRS, the process is more convoluted. As for changing official gender status or even getting a temporary F (female) put on your drivers' licence, I don't think it can be done here until you have had GRS.
