I'm not out to my whole extended family and that's okay. In the future, if I ever see them after I complete my mtf transition, I may dress in boy mode and everything because I don't want to upset my family.

I got a few handshakes from near strangers. Someone told me to "watch out man", which isn't usually such a big deal, but for me it is. I received a clearly mens shirt from my aunt. I tried to avoid the goodbyes but was cornered in the room by a stranger who gave me a distinctively male goodbye. I got mad and accidentally blurted out "I'm a woman" in front of a few people in that room. Ugh. I wanted to keep it a secret, especially from anyone born before 1975.

So mom took me to Kohl's, to the men's department, to replace a shirt. I shied away and she passed it off as a busy store today so we left.
