Title: New Life, New Introduction!
Post by: carissa on December 29, 2011, 08:24:54 PM
Hey everyone!

So this isn't my first introduction on Susans, but this is my first as I prepare to start a new life and stick to the real me.  I made an attempt while living in Florida to begin a new life and transition approx 2 or 3 years ago, but due to situations there, I failed miserably and so spent another 2 years of my life struggling and living through a never ending hell basically as a male.  But now i've relocated to Pennsylvania where I look forward to a new life, starting the physical change from male to female, hopefully being able to walk around with a smile, and perhaps gain a social life lol.  I have many challenges and things I'm nervous about (I'm 6'5 and have tried hard to fight my gender identity disorder by being "macho" and redneckish in a lot of things so they'll be some obstacles), but I think with the proper attitude and hopefully being able to join a support group as well as online support, I can do this and become the happy girl I want and deserve to be :)  It's time!

Hey Carissa! Welcome (again) to susan's! It's great here; the people here are pretty nice, and if you need help with anything there's always people willing to answer questions (like if you have any about transitioning) and stuff.

I hope everything works out for you in Pennsylvannia, the best of luck to you. :)

Peter

Hi and welcome from the Absolutely Deepest South.(next stop the ice!)
Hope things go better for you this time around,  at 6'5" you can always be a redneck woman and I don't think too many will argue!  :D  If you are a country girl, it can be easier to get away with not being too "femme", and be a bit more casual.

Karen.

Hi Carissa, welcome to Susans! Southern girls get by on attitude and cooking skills, it seems to be a winning combination! See you around, hugs, Devlyn

Hi Carissa,

A big warm welcome from the "not so Absolutely Deepest South." Sydney's a bit more equatorial than our poor Tassie sisters. But they still make the BEST Leatherwood Honey. Sort of stuff that makes the swim across the strait worth the effort.

I'm really pleased you have decided to embark once again on your journey. These sort of decisions make life just so embracing. To know you can get back "on the horse" can really invigorate you to new heights, previously thought unobtainable.

You are in a good state. I know a girl there who has started a support group that have a regular party to break the ice. Also you have a wonderful GCS surgeon there in New Hope. Dr. Christine McGinn. Looks like you are in the right place at the right time.

I hope you enjoy your stay, and please keep in touch and let us know how you are coping. We are all here for you.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
