The ABC is set to screen a documentary focusing on the intersex condition of the documentary's filmmaker, Phoebe Hart.
In the documentary Orchids: my intersex adventure Hart opens up about her journey of self discovery including the abrupt end of her childhood at puberty when she was told she would never menstruate nor have children.
It wasn't until the age of 17 that her mother felt Hart was old enough to be told of the family secret of her condition.
