Google "compounding pharmacy Toronto" then call one of the ones near you and ask them if they have (or can order) estradiol valerate in injection form. Shouldn't be too hard.

Alternatively contact http://www.sherbourne.on.ca/ (http://www.sherbourne.on.ca/) they should know where to get it.

I was wondering if you could say how much HRT is costing you. Are you covered by health insurance? Which type are you on?

Have you contacted http://www.scriptpharmacy.ca/ (http://www.scriptpharmacy.ca/) ? They are in Calgary and specialize in bio-identical hormones. I would literally faint in shock if they don't have estradiol valerate available.

And there certainly are doctors in Canada who are willing to prescribe injections. I was on them (for all of two weeks before I switched back to pills; I hated them).

I think what your doctor meant to say was "I don't want to prescribe you injections." Sometimes doctors confuse themselves with God and forget that they don't actually know everything and/or aren't the exclusive authority on all things medical. It's an easy mistake to make.

Currently I'm not taking anything 'cause I'm in the pre-surgery couple of weeks. But I was on Spironolactone, Prometrium and Estrace. Per month it cost $30 for the Spiro, $100 for the Prometrium and $35 for the Estrace. Post surgery I'll just be on the Estrace. The Spiro will no longer be necessary and I found the Prometrium to be worthless and unnecessarily expensive. I have no insurance.

I  know this is a dead thread, but I just wanted to share that I found a place near the Sherbourne health centre. It's Pace compounding pharmacy, and they seem to always have it ready for me.

Hope that helps others.

Implants might be an option... they might even come from the same compounding pharmacy :)
