Title: How Will I Be Viewed?

Having read a previous post by Julian entitled "Binary presentation: choosing a gender," it has elicited some thoughts I have wrestled with in my own life about what to wear now that my body has been modified. The thoughts about how we would look in various situations wearing the type of attire the occasion calls for can be daunting at best. Julian is concerned about going swimming at the beach in boy mode once the breasts are gone, just as I am. I will be staying at a nice resort soon and may wish to go swimming, I love to swim but haven't been swimming in years because I am sporting some C-cup boobs. Although I present sort of male with my buzz haircut, walk and talk fairly male so a woman's swim suit is just out of the question.
Then there is the business of having to dress up. I could gather together a woman's wardrobe, but I'm much more comfortable in male casual though I appear extremely androgynous to any onlooker. I hate men's suits! First of all they are bland, colorless and unimaginative, the style hasn't changed in 100 years. Why would anyone wear a tie around their neck and look like they're choking to death? I suppose that although Julian and I are genetic birth opposites, we do have a lot in common. As for me, I had not counted the cost entirely before I modified my appearance though I'm not sad about it, it has taken some getting used to under these kinds of circumstances that we all face in life.

QuoteHow Will I Be Viewed?
Indifferently by most
With love and affection by many
With disdain by some
...Is my guess anyway.
Might as well have a swim anyway, if you love it then I'm sure swimming is a more important part of you then your gender. I suppose go in female-wear and have people think you are fairly butch.
And as for a suit, if you are in a place that expects a suit, wear one - maybe a women's trouser suit as a compromise. If you are not somewhere where they expect you to wear one...don't.
(I wear female herringbone trousers, which accentuate my hips and bottom, a man's shirt and a tie - I like ties, they come in lots of colours, are not uncomfortable and mean there is always something handy to clean my specs.)

You didn't say where you were going, but if you are going into the water, you can always wear a wet suit or summer suit.

I'd sugest a surf/sun shirt commonly called a rashy/rashie where I live the only difference between Male & Female tops are the colours. pair that with board shorts and you will appear to be wearing male clothes or fem clothes depending on colors/styles.

Now that you have posted a picture of your torso as your avatar, I see your dilemma.
I'm also very jealous.

We worry more than others do. As long as you are 'modest' for the sake of a better word, no one will care. As long as you are confident. average people will assume one of two opinions. One that you are a woman with short hair, they understand that and it will be the common assumption. Two you are a guy with boobs. they don't understand that and will dismiss it.
I was told yesterday, by one of my medics who hadn't seen me for a few months, that he thought I was a butch lesbian who wasn't passing very well. I was sort of trying to pass as a guy. Time to give that away. He is used to TG people. People tend to see what they expect to see and rationalise that. So give them something to rationalise and have a great holiday.
And don't worry.
