THE parents of an 11-year-old child who was born a boy but identifies as a girl say they should not have to get a court's permission for hormone treatment to suppress male puberty and induce feminine characteristics.

Have to agree. If the courts there have begun interfering in medical decisions then that is worrying.
The report is quite brief and to the point. Hopefully more information will come to light. I'm hoping this is simply a legal aberation which will de dealt with in the normal process.
If the worst fears are realised, than I hope some Australians can make this public issue.
