I am 26 and have lived full time as a woman for 7 years. I am new to Susan's Place and feel awkward and don't know what to say. I am non-op. I feel more nervous now than I have ever felt at home or at work. I receive many comments which are not to nice, and I can say I don't think I will ever used to them. I think Susan's Place is a nice place to be and to be able to see others who have the same questions and feelings I do. Thank you for letting me join and share my thoughts and feelings with you. Shawnee

Hi Shawnee,
Another Aussie welcome to Susan's. You're family now, so feel right at home. Coffee and tea are in the cupboard, sugars on the table, milk in the fridge. Garbage goes out Tuesday night and if you're the last one out, please turn off the lights. Thanks. And please !!! no chocolates. Us ladies have to think about "the figure."
Shawnee is a very nice name. Is that a family thing, or was it your own choice? I'm sorry people lack the understanding to like you and say nice things about you. At least it'll have little effect if you don't take on what they say. After all, it's just their ill informed opinion. They probably can't help it.
Feel free to ask any question you like, someone here will have the answer or experience. Keep in touch and let us know how you are coping. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hi Shawnee,
Welcome and nice to meet you. No need to be nervous as we do have a great bunch of people here as I've experienced in my short time.
I am from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, in the upper midwest of the US. Pretty trans-friendly where I am from.
Enjoy yourself and I look forward to reading more about you.
Hugs - Jenni
