Title: A couple questions for those of you who are post-op

First off, what does it feel like to no longer have "it" there? I'm just wondering because, I've obviously never known how anything felt BUT that there and was wondering if anyone could try to give me a feeling of what it is like to actually have it gone.
Second, what is dilation like? Does it hurt? Is it difficult? Hard to keep up with? I take it I'll have to do it for the rest of my life to keep myself open, so I would like to know what I'm getting myself into!
Answering these questions would really help me out, so thanks in advance!

It's lighter and much more breezier! It's actually kind of hard to describe let alone get used to--I guess the main difference for me is that there is no longer that feeling of it banging into your legs or getting in the way when you sleep.

For me the only pain from dilation is the pain in the ass of having to do it. If you're busy, it can be difficult to make time for it even at once or twice a week.

Alright I guess that's what I about expected? I'm really looking forward to just being able to cross my legs, sleep however i want and simply move around without that damn thing getting in my way. Glad to hear it seems to bring the type of freedom of movement I'm hoping for!

I am a week post-op. It feels quite different, that is for sure. Right now I am still at the numb stage. It definitely feels like something is missing. Like everything has been compacted inside of you.
Dilation doesn't hurt exactly. More like an ache. Odd feeling overall. It is very unsexy though. I can say that for sure.

I guess another question re: dilation that I have is how much do you have to continue doing it over time? From what I understand it's at least three times a day when starting out, but I think the frequency decreases after a month or so? Does anyone have an average of how often you have to dilate over time?

This week I'm going down to twice a week. Next month I'll go down to once a week and will have to do that forever.

The sexiness comes later Melody :)
Dilation can be weird and a little uncomfortable at first but it's easy to keep up with because it's new, there's not much else to do while you're recovering and it's nice to have an excuse to lie down.

(I had simple penile inversion, Mr Bellringer, London UK)
The mind quickly remaps the area to the new layout in most cases. By the time the numbness from surgical shock and cut nerves is receding the remapping is done and your body parts feel correct - i.e. if you touch your labia you don't get the feeling that you're touching your scrotum or halfway up your penis or something, you know what and where you are touching.
Even straight after the op, I didn't really have a sensation that I'd "lost" anything and by the time I was a couple of months post op, I felt as if I had always been like this. I cannot clearly remember what it felt like to have a penis (and I'm 57 and have had sex with women all my adult life)
I've never had "phantom willie syndrome" since the op - there was one weird day about 6 weeks post-op when I had an irritating little stabbing pain and I knew EXACTLY where it was on the old equipment, under the lower edge of the head and at 2-o-clock position, but could not find a place on the new layout to rub or scratch that corresponded or alleviated it. I went to sleep and when I woke up next day it was no longer happening and never has since.
I am well aware that my clitoris is the centre of my sexual sensitivity, in a way which exactly corresponds to when male and knew it was in the head of my penis.
Penetration is a strange sensation at first and can be uncomfortable during early healing. It would be pointless to try and describe it.
Basically, my vulva feels as I expected it to and imagined it would.

Mostly the same as what Steffi related...
One thing though... my clit has practically replaced my penis in terms of sensation. When one gets that 'pre-horny' feeling, I recall when my then penis was feeling a bit 'jumpy' - when it wanted to get hard -, same with my clit.
It gets jumpy and wants, well actually does get a hard-on :-)
Since it's not restricted i.e. prevented from getting hard, my clit has more hard-ons then I can recall ever with the old male equipment.
It feels sort of nice to be aroused and nothing gets in the way – nice little secret of our own :-)
Penetration is ... hum ... if one is in the mood, - and I have a fat vibrator inside – (size counts!) , sliding it in and out is kind of a good feeling.
Going right to the bottom deep inside (and vibrating!) can get pretty intense... sort of pre-orgasmic... the other day it got intense enough that I got VERY emotional indeed. Like you start to moan, groan, grind you pelvis, push you hips into it, want to screech, and in my case I also cried quite a bit...
You just want that very, VERY deep inside you... and golly it can get INTENSE.
I'm 4 1/2 month post-op and I had no orgasm as yet. It can just get, - well, intense at times.
It is ALL VERY different from that whole male spiel (wangle dangle, shoot, done, thank you ma'am)... your whole body needs and wants to be involved, lest all be just not much about anything.
Dilating on it's own is just a shore that needs to taken care off, like vacuuming, dusting, or sweeping the floors :-)

OMG !!!! YOU HAVE TO DO IT THERE AS WELL ??.??. ??
(My most humble apologies. I just couldn't let that one go.) This is what happens when you force an Aussie girl to stay up beyond her normal bedtime. Her brain turns mushy. ;D
Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs

Well, of course you CAN! It's then called 'practice for double penetration'.
I tried it, it works fine too - but there's no MUST, eh :-)

Thanks this is all a great relief to hear! It's really good to know that the body will have already adjusted to the changes by the time I can feel it again and that there won't be remnants of the old feelings!

Honestly, I was never "endowed" down there. I wasn't anywhere close lol. So after the surgery, I hadn't noticed much of a difference in terms of "anything crunched down there" prior to surgery. Although it takes some getting used to when it comes to using the bathroom.

Doesn't really hurt. Just a little uncomfortable at first. Well....it did hurt a little the first two weeks. But it wasn't too bad.
It's not hard to keep up with...you just have to remember to do it. Once you established a pattern then its pretty routine.

Also, to EmilyElizabeth :-
When you first get home from the op, your life is dominated by the frequent dilations necessary - but they are uncomfortable if not slightly painful at first and you are too numb and uncomfortable to find much erotic about it.
By the time your dilation frequency is dropping and feeling is returning more fully, the act of dilation has become old-hat. e.g. 3 times per day for 3 months means 270 dilations by the time I dropped to two a day.
By the time I dropped to once a week, dilation was like brushing my teeth except more boring! :D I usually do about 45 minutes and watch an episode of a television serial whilst I do it. It is utterly meaningless in an erotic sense - the mere fact of penetration and some consequent rubbing sensation within the vagina is not of itself going to make me horny.
Sexual excitement as a post-op female is MUCH more dependant on being in the mood in the first place. If I am mentally predisposed towards seeking pleasure, then I can concentrate on the sensations and get excited and take things further from there - though I usually switch from the hard and sexless surgical stents to something more fun.
It is also much easier to abandon any small sexual drive that did arise as a by-product of dilation than it was ever possible to quell feelings of sexual excitement as male. I can just think"Hmmm..... that's feeling pretty interesting..... but it's late and I can't be bothered tonight" and 5 minutes later I've forgotten all about it.
Approaching with sex in mind and climax as the target is a different ball-game (LOL ..... there's a pun there....)
Starting a slow stimulation, stroking breast, inner thighs, belly can build interest so that by the time I touch my crotch any contact in that area makes me quiver with excitement, so by the time I get around to inserting something I'm very aroused to it as an erotic sensation and it is suitably rewarding.
But dilation-as-a-chore? Nah........ washing the dishes is more fun! :P

Well, I've started lurking here more often, now that I'm anticipating approval in a couple of months and surgery within a year, and topics like this are GOLD! Looking forward to gathering LOTS of great information in the coming months!
Quote from: Steffi on February 15, 2012, 01:55:30 PMThat of course also applies pre-op, lol...
