GREEN Party chiefs replaced a female comedian with a transgender comic to make a fundraising night more diverse.
The eco-friendly political party was forced to make a grovelling apology to Lindsay Sharman after she was dumped by e-mail and told: "Sorry, you have been usurped for a transsexual."
She had been booked for the comedy show on April 4, which is headlined by impressionist Alistair McGowan, but was swapped for 63-year-old veteran stand-up Shelley Bridgman.
Chris Smith, a candidate for the Greater London Assembly, messaged Ms Sharman: "It's nothing personal, I was asked if I could increase the diversity of comics on the night.
