Gay activist joined militant groups on Friday at the gates of the presidential palace and called on President Benigno Aquino to focus his attention on the economy and an antidiscrimination ordinance in Congress on the eve of the 26th anniversary of the uprising against the Marcos dictatorship.
Goya Candelario, spokesperson of the human rights group ProGay Philippines, said that they were getting impatient with Aquino's obsession with the impeachment trial against his political enemy Chief Justice Corona as discrimination, high prices and joblessness keep plaguing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities
