Holly Ryan is a lifelong Oak Hill Park resident, a homeowner, a Boston sports fan, a Democratic activist, a cook and mother to two children.
She likes going out to eat every Saturday with her friends, playing pool, going to the movies, discussing politics and helping her kids with their homework. And she is the first openly transgender woman to be appointed to Newton's nine-member Human Rights Commission. Mayor Setti Warren appointed her on Jan. 30 and the Board of Aldermen unanimously approved her appointment last month.
